So I got a Tobeco super tank. Have 3 coils

  • 0.2 ohm that came with it
  • 0.5 ohm that came with it
  • 0.3 ohm notch coil
Any suggestions for the best wattage to run them at? I read somewhere that 0.2 is best at 55 and 0.5 at 38. No idea what to run the 0.3 at.

Both are good, but getting warm vape. I like it cooler.

Flavours also good at these. I'm more into flavour than clouds.

If the vape is warm then turn your wattage down.

Don't put too much value in what others do, like, or post either. There is no "best" that matters more than your own.

Remember that of you follow conventional thoughts, but aren't satisfied, you may end up back on Marlboro Road. If you find your own personal sweet spot though, odds are in your favor that you'll stick with vaping.

Keep it simple, repeatable, and (most importantly) enjoyable; however that may be.

all depends on what the wire thickness is... .5 ohms with 30 ga. wire will use alot less watts to heat up as compared to .5 ohms made with 20 ga. wire

I can toast a wick with 30 ga. at 12W as to where 20 ga. wont even get warm enuf to sizzle the juice at 12 W.

Yes, the coil "recommendations" are just that, and I often vape below them. With each new coil prime thoroughly and then increase you wattage 5 watts at a time until you find a vape you like. This may even differ between juices, airflow, etc., so there are a lot of variables to consider, but just going by the wattage you prefer with each coil should work well, especially if you like a cooler vape. I do, I find it more flavorful.

Good luck, but I think you will be fine. Welcome to ECF.

I never even looked at recommendations. I found that higher wattages can give you a full, dense vape easier, but kills the taste. What I do now is go to just about the lowest wattage that will "fire," and just do a priming puff or two to get a full, dense hit. For me that gives me the fullest flavor of the tobacco juices I use. Higher wattages just kill flavor for me.

I will say, I see a lot of sub0hmers requesting "extra" flavoring for their setups. Bleugh, after having quit for a while, I can't even deal with storebought-- too strong, too chemical-ish, and too sweet and dark, some are total coilkillers for me. I found things far more flavorful after a) I got my taste back and b) I exited (my brief) foray into sub0hming. I will say with the Cleto tank (very low resistance) flavor was okay, though I was using peppermint at the time, but also, keeping my wattages low increased flavor. With that said, far too much vapor production for me.

I think, however, that you will find folks who feel the complete opposite. That's why it's hard to give recommendations, I mean, flavor is pretty subjective. I'm surprised I didn't damage my taste buds MORE with the length of time I smoked, and the amount. Food tastes like I remembered back when I was an athlete. I'm still kind of one, but quitting smoking enabled me to gain back 10 very needed pounds, so color me happy about it and every bite was delicious. I could probably calm down a bit about it now, though. Don't want to wind up in one of those "custom" chairs for the intensely obese..... :)

Agreed on the juice wattage. I vape this strawberry starburst flavor at 80w or under. Over 100 and it taste like cough syrup.

Now at 28 watts. Nice and cool and flavourful. Air vent almost closed. I might be getting close to nirvana.

Thanks all!!

I know lots of 0.5ohm coils that are seemingly (magically) able to 100w which in reality need to be vaped in the 30w area to last more than a day or two.
The infamous iJust2 was blasting away at nearly 60 watts on a fresh battery. Coil life = 2, maybe 3 days at best. "Many burnt tastes for you to enjoy"
That coil at 30w could last over a week.
