No one's mentioned airflow.
Get within a range that's comfortable and then start adjusting the airflow. Less air will produce more flavor, more will give more cloud.

Less airflow could produce more heat as well, so keep that in mind.

Usually I'll start low on new build (unless it's identical) and move up a couple watts at a time. When I find where I wanna be I'll start reducing airflow, then adjust wattage again as needed for the flavor/cloud I want.

As all have said, it's up to you. What I like you may hate, and vice versa.

Above all, have fun.

I'm usually about halfway myself. At the moment my Pulse 24 is a little over, on a single coil. Still get great cloud & flavor.

I open up more mostly when I have juice that should be steeping, but I couldn't wait. Cuts down the harshness a bit.

Lol. The handle has a long story, won't get into it here.

So, more experimenting, now at 29 watts and air vent open. Interesting observations, I'm vaping a juice called Morning Ritual from Vape Wild, a combo of tobacco and coffee. When the air vent is closed it tastes like tobacco and when open its more coffee and sweeter.

Wonder why?

May have something to do with him being face to face with three Cheetahs. :D
Actually there were 5 wild cheetahs that jumped on my car. One even came to see me shooting selfies. Quite the experience!!

Lots of complex flavors will change their profile under different conditions.
