Here, there, everywhere!
rtfm gave me this tip and it worked well for me - tastes better now than when I first got it:)

I do the following (seems to work):

Drop in an old prescription bottle full of Vodka (probably should remove the old pills first)
Place cap on bottle
Shake
Let it soak for ten minutes in the alcohol
Skake
Rinse with hot water
Point a blow dryer at it for a few minutes
Couple dry burns
Prime the atty with a drop or two (like dripping)
Insert (filled) cart and enjoy

I pour a few drops of pg or vg inside it and cover both ends with my fingers and shake like crazy for a few seconds. I then empty it out, blow it out from one side and repeat. After this I just stick some paper towel pieces in to soak up the excess. this takes out the previous flavor and since we know pg/vg is safe, no need to dry it or wait for anything to evaporate.

Last time i dry burned my atty it was cleaning it i could smell the smoke of the nasty gunk. But i heard you do it until you could see the glow of the coil. I continued to do it trying to see this glow and broke it. What did i do wrong?

Dry burns can be dangerous. Atties don't last forever. Dry burning *can* clean off all the dried up and burned gunk, but it also overworks the coils. The coils are meant to be cooled by airflow as they're being used.

You most likely didn't to anything wrong, but on the tank-atty, I've found that as soon as you see the coil glow, you let go of the button (never more than 5 seconds at a time).

See my post here: My first problem with the eGo-T « Zombienerd's PV Blog

well took someones advice on the forum to put it in a cup of 93 % iso alchol and guess what? My black atty is now a stainless steel atty LMAO

Yeah BigMike, I've not used IPA, only near-boiling water, and my paint has come off as well. I'd speculate the heat of the atty and the inexpensive painting process won't allow the paint to last for a very long time.

Cleaned out the nasty crap that TW primes their attys with by just soaking in ipa (only had the 71% stuff, it just takes a little longer to dry) then drying. I do have a rinsing rig that someone on here came up with. It's just a syringe with the end cut off I used to clean 510 attys. You use it to force draw and push ipa through your atty. If you place the Ego-T attys batt side down in a container and place the rig on top you can use it with them too.

Does IPA leave behind any funky tastes for anybody? I have IPA, but no vodka, and I'm kinda nervous to use it to clean my atty.

I've used 50% rubbing alcohol, as well as 99.5% IPA, and as long as you let it dry 24 hours, there is no taste for me. I always blow mine out after the soak and run.

YMMV

I suppose I should buy a 2nd atty so I can still vape while one is drying. 24 hours would kill me lol

I recommend everyone to have at least 3 atties.

Have two atties in circulation (one can be drying while the other is vaping), and one backup to replace a failed unit.
