I have introduced vaping to many many people. About 1% have taken me up on the offer for a loaner kit and/or buying advice.

That leads me to believe that the people have to WANT to quit analogs, and when presented with an option to do so, will jump at the chance.

That is how I quit analogs, and I don't think there is any other way.

Just be an example to them without being snobbish. The ones who are interested in ecigs will gravitate towards you and ask you questions. If that has already happened, and they haven't tried vaping, just drop it altogether. Remember how you felt when "well meaning folks" would tell you that cigarettes were evil and they only had your "best interest in mind?"

You can't, unless they want to. I've had people ask and try, and refuse to even consider it, try and give up at the first or second problem, it always comes down to the same thing, the other persons true desire to quit or vape or not. It depends on their wish to not anything you do, nothing can change that. Try to keep in mind vaping takes more thought and work then smoking a cigarette unless the person wants it its not going to work for that reason even if you get them to try it and many smokers, myself included at one time, resent when you keep offering to help them try an alternative or to quit, no matter what your intentions are if they love to smoke the push to get them to change only comes off as an attempt to change them, and a refusal to accept that they are adults and may choose to smoke, risk or not, if they want to, it feels patronizing. Just do what you do and if their interested they will ask you about it, in which case help them get set up with an ego or something similar that won't give them a ton of problems to start, answer their questions, help them figuring out what works for them, that is all you can do, from there the rest is up to them.

I agree with all of the above. I have got three people at work to switch to vaping, but all of them were interested and asked me questions. I pointed them to ego twist batteries and kanger evods since it is such and easy set up and works well. However there is a couple I've been trying to get to switch but they just aren't having it. I think it still seems like a joke to them and too much work, even though they know I haven't smoked in almost 4 months now. They definitely have to want it.

Excellent replies guys. I do hope the ones I love get the desire to quit. The ones who have tried and failed umpteen times with patches and pills and gum; those I have let "bum a vape" when they quit the next time. My workplace just eliminated the smoking area because it was hard to maintain and customers complained, maybe now some of my coworkers will be willing to vape. Its lower key and much easier to maintain.
