Best way to remove the silver plating?

How is it done?

I'm guessing extremely high grain sand paper would be too rough.

Tips?

the chrome is very thin. it's easy to get through. I used a fine toothed metal file (it was faster, and i had one). The layer of copper between the chrome and the brass is more stubborn. (It gets dark within a week or two). IDK, start with 220 grit? (180?) I finished it with 1500 grit, and then #0000 steel wool. (you'll need some tweener grits too)

Take a 510 to 510 adapter put it in a regular drill chuck. Screw your reomizer on the adapter . you can hold a piece of sandpaper and let the drill do the work . Start with 220 and finish it up with some 600 to 800 grit

I use elbow grease and a scotchbrite pad, then clamp in my constructed atty vise (which won't damage threads) and buff it with a polishing wheel.

I like the adaptor route Rob, I'll use that so I can get my atty further away from my vise and more room to work

Time to go buff some more....

That looks great. I'm thinking of taking the finish off my chrome rm2 so I can interchange my 2 attys. I wonder if the 510-luer lock adapter is tough enough for this...

I'm confused, Buddy. Is that chrome, still? (If so, why does the edge of the top look rounded?) Is it now brass? (If so, why does it look like shiny chrome?)

That's not brass that's so shiny polished that it looks like chrome . . . . . is it?

Torched it to get the chrome grooves black. My reomizers have rounded edges as apposed to the 45 that I see most with, lots of rubbing have mad it even more round yeah it's smooth enough to look like a water reflection, glad ya'll dig it, you know it's all for the Reonauts

After stripping chrome, then torched, then polish and polish some more, used jewelers paste, (red)
