RM2/coil cleaning and maintenance guidance needed!

I just tried using a pikster size #2 miniature round brush to brush off the deposits on the inside and outside of a dry burned coil. Works great!

neat little brushes I'll look for these.

You folks are making me feel bad... You CLEAN stuff?!?!?

When I re-wick, I pull the old burned up cotton out, dry burn, give it a quick blow and stuff a new wick in there. The quick blow usually removes any ash left on the outside of the coil. Inserting the new wick usually removes any gunk left inside the coil as I pull the new wick through...

My rm2s have never seen water, but all are like 3 weeks old...

I do have ocd issues about the gunk accumulating on my ss drip tips and clean them often. I don't like lip gunk and wish there was a way to avoid it, cuz I like metal tips.

A wipe down and a tip clean is pretty much all my rm2 sees. But then again I hate to see it out of business for that long to clean. Haha
