I just got 3 spare 1000 mah batts for my eGo. What is the best way to store them, fully charged or partially charged. I assume a cool dark spot, but should they be refridgerated. My dad always refridgerated batteries when I was a kid, but they were a different kind of battery.

I have 2 that I am rotating now plus an eGo passthough, but I just had to have extras just in case.

I've had the same Riva and eGo batteries since I started vaping back in September. I just store them in one of my pull out drawers and they work just fine. If you want to freeze them, make sure the threads are clean and dry, wrap them in a paper towel and put them in plastic wrap or a plastic bag. You can mark them this way and then you won't forget what they are!

For rechargeable lithium batteries (and I am 99.9% sure that's what you got) the ONE THING to avoid is damage. Lithium is a highly flammable metal and when it goes...Look up the thread "Pictures of catastrophic battery failure - IMR 18650" in the top section. or go on utube and look up lithium battery explosion.

As a result, I avoid freezing them. It stresses all the components and since I am too lazy to get a listing of all of them and verify that they will withstand 2 severe changes in temperature (freezing and defrosting) and won't be damaged by condensation inside. I store mine at room temperature. I stored one for three months before using it and it seems fine.

I'm with you. Wayyyy too scary of a situation for me to chance. I'll stick to the desk drawer for now.

I keep a spare fully charged eGo batt in my truck as a backup. Here so far this 'spring' (early summer pattern thus far) the trucks interior can easily get up to 95 degrees F. I've pulled two that were in for a week and both were fully charged when put on a charger.

I still have my original batts that work well. So, no freezer for my batts!

They WOULD be fully charged, their capacity has just decreased, your totally missing the point.
