really ..... REALLY .... I don't mean to be an S.O.B. about this but, aren't you taking this a bit too far???? I understand everybody pretty much has their "steeping" or "aging" rituals ..... but "what is the best way to shake eliquid?" really????

Just shake the crap out of it ... doesn't matter if you shake it by rotating your wrist ..... flailing your arms ..... jumping up & down .... or tying it to your dogs collar and letting him chase squrrles in the back yard ... just shake it.

Shake it when you get it out of the mailbox ..... shake it goodnight before bed in the evening .... shake it good morning when you get out of bed .... and most importantly ..... sake it before you fill your tank.

just poking a little fun ... but you will be amazed at some of the "rituals" some of us vapers have with our juices

Really? ...Really!!!??? you got to be a total Facking jerk to a brand new member that has a legitimate new user Question????? REALLY!!!
Does that make you feel like better and good in side?? ReallY??

I like to duct tape it to a naked fat guy and push him down a few flights of stairs (ya really need a FAT guy, because their body heat is usually higher than a skinny guy, and fat guys jiggle longer when they get to the bottom of the stairs).

REALLY!!!, one bad attempt at humor wasn't enough and now you have to pick on people with an overweight problem too?? Really?? Find that most people come here with real concerns and have real questions. The new members forum is not to make fun of and ridicule others, it's to help new people learn the ins and outs, and to welcome them. And yes, I Really mean that.

To the OP. I apologize for the rude comments by some posts. Most members don't have that kind of humor and are much more friendly and helpful. Let me just say, welcome to the ECF, and glad you found vape.

Thicker VG juices do require more stirring than he PG ones, but a good shake occasionally will work ok.

I make my own juice and have noticed that the heavy VG is much more difficult to emulsify into the batch evenly. This is why I use a glass rod and large beakers to stir them up good. I have even gotten into the habit of once they are well mixed up, I run hot water over the glass flask while stirring it some more, I'll pull it out of the hot water and do a swirling shake while continuing to stir it for maximum incorporation of the PG, VG, and flavor extracts. Once I dry off the flasks I store them in a cabinet and then every time I pass by in the next couple of days, I make a point of stirring and swirling it some more. Usually let I steep for 2-3 days before I pour them into bottles.

For premixed juice, one doesn't need to go to that extreme, but pouring them into a clean glass or measuring cup to give them a good stir can't hurt, but not necessary unless you notice you juice has separated. Know that many juice vendors include instructions that say shake well before use. With a full bottle, just shaking really doesn't do much for mixing up juice, because there is no room to allow for mixing. So if concerned pouring it out and stirring wouldn't be a bad idea. I never did when I bought mixed juice, but thinking back it might of been a good idea. Know some vendors juice didn't need steeping and did a better job with the mixing process and steeping time than others.

OK and OK :)............ I'm not even gonna read between your tongue-in-cheek post (up above) and the ones that follow.;) Hoping you attached the man-parts-protector or girl-part covers as without a doubt someone will immediately go into attack mode. :blush:Alas, I wondered the same thing about 'how to shake' and came so close - but resisted as it dawned on me that 'thick stuff and 'thin stuff' needs a little more or less 'shaking' to 'mix'.:2cool:

I suppose since I 'shake' any liquid that I know to be made of more than one ingredient it's just automatic. Especially e-juice. A 'special procedure' for it though? I seriously doubt it needs one - but if it does I'd imagine any method would work. I automatically shake it up and down - side to side then roll it all around in my palms and shake in all directions again. Then it sits on the desk a few seconds and I stuff it in the tank. I hope it's mixed!

I do still think you are gonna get beaten up:mad: - so I'm gonna take a nap and come back this evening and see! Good luck!

To the OP --- no special way. Do what make YOU feel comfy it all "mixed up".:p I sure am right now.;)

I just made my first DIY 30ml bottle this morning. I gave it a good shake at the time, maybe 5 mins., and then stuck the bottle in the pouch of my hoodie. nice and warm in there and I dig it out every so often and give it a shake. Thinking outside the box here and from what I've read on the DIY forum, I've come up with an idea. I've got some small rock tumblers that I use for cleaning coins I find metal detecting. I'm thinking about banding 3-30ml bottles together, double bagging them in baggies and placing them in the tumbler filled 3/4 full with hot water and then tumbling for a few hours. That should more than insure a real thorough mixing.
