Best ? it also depends on what tank, wick, and exactly what your specs are in order to find the best for that individual set up in my opinion. I like working with 34AWG Kanthal best for my set ups and just purchased a 5lb roll of it $232, as far as wick goes this also depends on what set up your building or using, CE2 style I find the newer fatter silica works, taste, and vapes best., in some set ups just a small strand of XC-116 works well, sometimes a piece of fiberglass wick. Bottom line is that it is BEST to probably have a few different types of Wick and different size AWG Kanthal/Nichrome set ups in order to find what works best for your particular set up of making a wick and wire wrap in your particular unit you making/using. My theory anyways

I wonder if they sell tungsten wire as heating element material instead of nichrome wire for e-cigs ? It may last longer because it will run at a very lower wattage than a light bulb.

If you talking about HG then it's Nichrome. I doubt tungsten would work TBH. Although it's a hard metal the wick would be too thin to get the resistance required.

I bought Kanthal-A1 from ebay and that it tough stuff. Takes a real beating before it gives up.

I wonder why tungsten is not being used on atomizer? Tungsten should have a much longer life than nichrome. They used tungsten on vacuum tubes in the early days. They also use it on some heaters.

Some manufacturer should make them preformed (wound) for atomizers and sell them to atomizer manufacturers. Eventually it will be available to DIY vapers.
