I got 20 of these last Friday. Popped one in when i got my shipment just to try them out. It lasted all of 4 days. 4 days? WTH. I mean sure I was running it on a chuck at 6v. But I have made other atty's suffer on there for at least 3-4 weeks before they give out.

Any one else have any experience with the bestecig 510 atty's. I hear they are slb. but there is no marking on them at all. How long has anyone elses made it? I hope that was just a bad one, I will be ...... if I end up with a pile of dead atty's.

How did you become a mod here? I remember you crawling around just getting your noob legs. Now you a full grown mod. Well you sure grew up fast.

But anyway, that atty was the earliest death I have ever had. Other that the time I had a short in my mod and blew up 4 atty's in about 6 hours but those don't count. Have you bought any from bestecig? As my past purchases from RMV have all lasted 3-4 weeks on 6v.

I'm just a sucker for punishment.

I haven't ordered from them yet, but as far as I can tell, they're all Joye attys, so they should be the same. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have 5 of them now and I am going to try them on the Chuck as soon as I get my 801-510 adapter. However, it will be mostly at 3.7V, so it may not be a useful data point for you. Feel free to PM me in a few weeks to compare notes.

Don't be shy to post how they work for you cpcp. Plenty of other 510 users would certainly be interested.

BesteCig's attys are not Joye 510's - they are his own variation on the 510 design. Beci manufactures his own attys, so these are, in fact, unique.

Unfortunately, I haven't tried his 510's yet, so I cannot comment on their quality.

Great info. Thanks for the clarification.

thank you, I will come back to this thread as soon as I get an idea of how they work. I always got my 801 attys from best e-cig and they very consistently lasted two weeks on the penstyle batteries. Now with the Chuck I am at 4 weeks and going strong.
By 'lasting' I do not mean they actually die. I mean they no longer satisfy me in terms of vapor production.

As promised, I am back. the first 510 I had stopped producing satisfying vapor after about three weeks and I switched to one of the best ecig attys. Two days. Really dead: last night it just stopped producing anything and shorted the battery. Unconnected showed 2.8 ohm, but when connected it just shorted the battery. I suspect this is a mechanical failure of the atty contact: looks ok unconnected but it gets shorted when connected because of the contact pressure. I left it home, so I cannot do any post-mortem yet (and I may never do that because I will constantly forget it at home).
As Angus correctly said, each one is a crapshoot. Let us call this a fluke and I will check back in when the new atty fails.

I'd recommend emailing Beci and telling him how these are failing on you. BesteCig will usually ship out replacements to you at no cost, without requiring you to send back the defective attys. In short, you should be taken care of. ;-)

Just a quick update for those interested.

All attys from this batch were dead within 1 day each. I was able to resurrect one after testing it on a power supply, but all others just stayed dead. A few read zero ohm and others read the right resistance but would not produce any heat.

Too bad.

I am now testing some 510s from Heaven Gifts.

Three 810s from he same order lasted about 1 week each instead of my usual two weeks (I still have two to go), and their initial vapor production was already scarce. All use conditions were the same as they werewhen I reported better performance from attys bought somewhere else, so I do think it is an atty problem.
Also, just to reiterate, what I mean here by "dead" for the 510s is no vapor production at all, battery shorted when pushing the PV button.
For the 810s means vapor production is not satisfying for me, so this is somewhat subjective.

Cheers.

Heaven Gifts sells Joye atties. If you haven't tried them and would like to, try SLB's higher ohm 510 clones.

There is nothing particularly innovative or ground breaking about the basic design of the Joye 510 or the atty. Same basic construction/parts. What put it on the map was the high resistance (2.5 ohm) of the atty. It seems to me finding the voltage sweet spot (for your tastes) of the real Joye makes more sense than searching out the various higher ohm 510 clone atties that seem to be far less durable at higher voltages anyway.

I have 5 of the BE510's. Tried two and while they performed well I was getting a metalic taste that wouldn't go away. I've been meaning to try the other three, just haven't gotten around to it. The taste wasn't the shipping/primer fluid and not a 'dry atty'.

I have and really like the BE112's for my Janty Sticks and other adapters and they don't have that same taste - work just fine. ?? The 112's have been around and the BE510 is fairly new - they look like the SLB/L2/innov's "new atty", but are manufactured in house by beci. Washer instead of metal mesh base.

Thanks WillyB,

I was just reporting on results using beci's 510s for the first time (for me at least). I used his BE112 (the 801s I mentioned in my posts so far) for quite some time. They always worked nicely for a couple of weeks. Only the last batch lasted half that time.
I also bought some 801s from ikenvape and one Joye tech 510 from them for the sake of it. I am now vaping Heaven Gift's 510s and they seem to do quite nicely, but we will see as time goes by.

I am not interested in higher resistance 510 as I use my chuck predominantly on 3.7V. I do use 6V occasionallly on the 801s (when they start gettingold, just to squeeze some more time out of them before I do not like the vapor production anymore)

Just some random testing.

Cheers.

What about checking Ohm's on these BEFORE using them the first time...it would be interesting to find out what the reading is, might give a better idea of why they are dying...if the average reading is well out of 'normal' range for a brand new Joye510, it might explain some things. :)

Hi darmeen,

I did. The ohms did not seem to change all that much before and after dying. It is quite odd and points to a mechanical failure when the atty is inserted in the PV, shorting it out.
However, the fact is the whole batch failed the same way, so I will just take that as a fact and look for some better 510s somewhere else, for a good price.
