Thanx, I have seen those at Vapor kings. I just never realized that they were compatible with the 901.
I'm thinking of trying some kr808d-1 cartos with my 901 mods. Know anything about those? Anybody?....Buller?

Here's a link to some various stuff I posted about them yesterday on another of the threads about the 'new' style 901 atties. Btw, if you decide to try 808D-1 cartos and are in the market for an adapter, I recommend avoiding the long black-barrel kind made out of a 901 charging adapter with a hole drilled in, and getting one of the dedicated 'normal' versions available at an increasing number of places. (Can link to more info if needed.) The black barrel kind don't facilitate optimal airflow, or even close in my experience.

Haven't been up that way in a while, however, my nephew is getting married in Gaylord on July 3rd so I'm going up for that. We visit the upper east side of the lower peninsula pretty often now. Wifes family has a place on Hubbard Lake. Know it?

No but I heard of it and I go to Gaylord regularly. the doc I had for years in Grayling abruptly left the area in Sept and the only doctor whod take me was in Gaylord, 94 mile round trip. When you go to Gaylord watch out for the state troopers, especially it being a holiday, once you pass the Grayling exits they are thick, my last trip up 75 I saw 5, 2 were stopping people. And that was in like an 8 mile stretch.

My 2nd order from bestecig in China came today. I wrongly assumed I would be getting the good 901 attys since I got them from there before. No, I am stuck with the crummy new style leaky crappy tasting too hot attys. So, are they even making the old style attys anymore? If so, who sells them. I cant stand how juice tastes with these new ones. Probly give up vaping altogether if I cant get the old attys anymore. I thought bestecig manufactured their own but the ones I got today look just like the ones I got in the US months ago. And they are lame. I can keep the old kind going for months with less vapor production but they still function. these new kind die in days.

I start slowing down when I hit the Rosscommon county line.

Don't believe I need an adapter with a 901 connecter do I? I'm playing around with some 510 cartos on a 510 mod I made but I'd like to try the 808s too.

Yeah, to go from 901 batt/connector to KR808 carto an adapter is needed; the threads are the same but the air flow mechanism isn't. (I've read that alternatively, a hole can be drilled in a certain spot in a 901's connector threads.) It's only in the other direction -- KR808 batt to 901 atty -- that an adapter isn't needed.

Edit to add: here's a post that contains some size instructions and a pic of where to drill the hole, if you're interested in trying that method. (I'm sure lots of other stuff exists about it in more general subforums, but that's one I knew where to find right away since I just saw it recently.)

And from this post through post #31 (as of now anyway) is some discussion on sources etc. for 901 > 808 adapters.

I received today a box of KR808 cartos in a trade. These are my first cartos ever.
I use a 6V box mod and 36mg juice.

These are 16mg and I'm very much enjoying them. Flavorful and best of all HOT vapor. Warmer than my 901 atty. I can't get the TH I'm used to cause of the nic difference, but the warmth of the vapor is very nice.

I cannot speak to any other kind but these. The box says they came from analog alternative.

Nice! Dunno how long they will last and if they die young it would be a pricey way to go, but for now, it's good. (And I can chain vape with the much lower nic level :vapor:)

Whenever they appear to have given up the (decent) ghost, you could always try the below trick too -- removing the filler and using them as drippers. For that, some ppl are beginning to think 808 cartos make better atties than atties do! And they can hold more drops. (Replacing filler instead is a concept still being worked on by enterprising individuals. Not as simple/effective so far as it would seem.)

Dogs' NF Carto Mod (KR8 Atty)

Of course, most of them can be refilled, and even washed for best performance restoration, quite a few times before anything like that.

Thanx for the link to the hole drilling technique. I might try that. Seems like it might effect the air flow if you switch back to a 901 atty though.... Maybe not though if the 901 atty screws down over it, we'll see.

Thanks, Mia. I had hubby watch it too. Now we know what to do when they marshmallow out on us. (I love that term. Describes it perfectly)

Side note: 29 hours (but I did sleep) with a 8081d @ 6V and still doing good. It hasn't wimped out yet.

Oh and I forgot this handy and popular little trick, which is used for a couple of predicaments: here, where more airflow is needed between a certain batt/connector and atty/carto; or when the metals of the center posts may not be making enough contact due to manufacturing variances etc.

Staple Mod - Filling The Center Conductor Gap

...don't know if it facilitates the best possible experience when used in lieu of an adapter, but perhaps enough to give you a good idea what you think of cartos. :)
