Hello again, been gone a long time, lots going on in my life. I have 2 original reo minis and still vaping. I was looking on the forum again and noticed lots of changes with rebuildable atomizers. A co worker let me try his vivi nova tank but it didn't screw down enough on my mini and really, I don't need a tank. What I liked about it was you just screw off the bottom and viola, a new atty. I'm still using the 510, 1.8 atomizer and sick of it. Is there anything out there as easy as the vivi nova but compatible with a reo mini that's inexpensive? Don't mind a few bucks to start with but don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Also, it would need to be pretty sturdy as I work in heavy industry. Thanks for all suggestions.

REO RM2 RBA for the win. Best bottom fed atty you can buy right now :)

Check this thread for a very simple way to rebuild it:
RM2 / RBA 2.0 / Reomizer 2 Rebuild Tutorial

Their SUPER easy to build, good quality and sturdy. You can PM redeyedancer and he will mill it to fit your original minis :)

Keesie, you get them from Rob on the reosmods site, and they cost $43.00. To use them on a Mini, you would need to (if you order one) PM Rob and have him mill it down a tiny bit so it'll fit in the drip cup. Rebuildables are the latest/greatest, and they will give you the best vape you've ever had on your REO. Really.

Once you buy one, then the wire (sold on his site as well) and the wicking material (various, but some sold on his site) are all you need to have a great atty forever. Really, really cheap in the long run.....and like I said, the best vape you'll ever have. Read around on this forum for awhile and get yourself caught up.....you'll read a LOT about the rebuildables that fit our REOs in general, and the RM2 (Reomizer, v.2) specifically, as we are pretty much all fans.

Good to see you again.

Looking over the tutorial and honestly can't see myself doing something like that. I have 4 cats including a new kitten and I'm never alone. My cats would consider a wire a play toy to be sure. Any other ideas????

??? All RBAs use wire ???

I have little kids (their much worse than kittens) so I put the wire away when I'm done with it. You only need to make a new coil like once a month too.

Only other choices, if wire is out if the question is factory cartos and atty's. :)

Are you alone in the bathroom? You can easily build a coil/wick setup in minutes while your sitting in the "library"! :)
You will thank us in the long run. As the saying goes"try it, you'll like it"!

If you're looking for a non-rebuildable atomizers:

HH357 is considered the pinnacle, though for some reason I couldn't get the hang of them
Cisco 306 atomizers were easier, or at least more commie-proof. They do get obscenely hot though
Shorty 1.7 cartos were my favorite. Forgiving as far as squonking goes, and the taste is pretty close to an atomizer. Cheaper too.

I just re-read your post more carefully. I'd really suggest the 1.7 shorties. Rob sells them, as well as a lot of places. Rob's price is one of the lowest on them that I found. They're cheap and sturdy. Very small learning curve -- just need to get the hang of blind squonking and learn to put up with a bit of a gurgle.

You can buy pre-made coils for the RBA's. Then all you have to do is take a coil off and put one on. They can be stored in a very small space away from the cats.

It is cheaper to make your own, but if that does not work for you there is that choice.

I have 5 cats who love nothing more than sitting on my stuff while I try to use it, but haven't had much problem building coils when they are around, I have been keeping everything I need in a box, and use the lid to hold stuff as I'm working. They do tend to stand right between my eyes and my hands during crutial moments, I just wait them out.

You cat people are nutz ...... get a dog and tell them to sit down and be quiet .... :D

Disclamer: Former cat nut - current cat lover - but a non cat owner at this time.

I once paid $500.00 for a pure bread lilac point oriental short hair .... Loved him until the end but my dad called him an overpriced rat every time he visited.

As far as atomizers I have to back the choir and say give RBA's a shot ..... you won't know unless you try.

I use 1.5 Ohm atty's on my mini. I think a 1.8 is way too cool for a fresh 4.2V that may drop off sharply after a few squonks. You didn't say what juice you use, as that makes a difference too (tobacco/fruit/sweet, Pg/Vg, Mg). In my mini, I use 80/20 Ruby Red Grapefruit @18mg with a 1.5 Ohm carto or atty. Because of the mass of the battery (smaller) it will drop off in flavor and vapor sooner than my Grand (menthol tobacco flavor & larger mass battery). Also there is nothing wrong with keeping your atty clean daily with a hot water or high content alcohol rinse. They are made to be disposable but we tend to try and get every puff out of them almost to a point of frustration. How old are your batteries? While the RBA does produce good flavor and vapor, I tried them but couldn't get past my mindset of a no hassle vape. To some building coils and wicks is fun and easy, but it's not me. When I smoked, my biggest issue was who took my lighter. With the Reo's and a good atty/carto combo, I'm there.

My housefull of cats and dogs want me to be in vapefull bliss all day long. RM2s are the only way to go. Just don't be a slob about rebuilding them. It is not a big deal. Just snip the parts into one of those now idle ashtrays and toss the discard bits. There is no comparison between the RM2 and market attys.

I wrap my coils by the dozens at a time and put them in a baggie. I always have a full supply of coils ready to reload and always a smile on my vaping face!

Sorry, I work 12 hr shifts overnight. Let's see, yes my cats are everywhere I go including sometimes in the shower. The minute they see me sit or even stand too long ( more than a minute) they are with me. That's the way I want it but it's hard to get anything done. The problem with the attys is they lose flavor and get harder to draw, sometimes very soon or sometimes weeks. They also get hot quickly. Tried every method of cleaning in the forum I think, no difference. I vape 100 vg but recently went to 80/20 vg/pg. Didn't notice any difference in attys. I like the idea of the vivi nova because you just unscrew the bottom and put a new one on and viola, fresh vape. I was just hoping for something as simple.

Where do you buy pre-made coils for the reomizer 2? Thanks!
