Yesterday (well, Tuesday) was rough. They told me I might be able to get unhooked for a while and go outside. What I got instead was a high fever and a staph infection. So instead of going outside, I didn't walk, I didn't vape, I hardly ate, all I did was sleep all day. Today was much better, or the second half was at least, but now they've got me hooked back up to the tubes and pumping antibiotics in me day and night, so I probably won't be going anywhere for another week. At least someone is bringing me Taco Bell tomorrow...I guess this hospital food ain't all bad, but it ain't all that good, either!

Got a tracking notice a bit ago that vapemail is in my box - of course it was a few hours after I left base. Have to wait til tomorrow to pick it up.

My piggy decided to take a bath the other night and in the process dropped her spire in. It was in for about 20-30 seconds before she saw it. Well guess what!!! It's still working just fine and it's clean. Gotta say the spire is awesome

Got vapemail yesterday that I wasn't expecting for sure, so was really excited about that. @bwh79...hoping you are feeling MUCH better today than yesterday and that you continue to feel better. Today, I am enjoying a delicious Beyond Vapes Vanilla Cupcake that I won a couple of weeks ago. I am really liking it...not too sweet, but very good.

I am glad you are still able to connect thru to the outside world (us) ....Yum, on the Taco Bell...what a kind and considerate friend! Hoping that was the worst of it and that you pick up steam from here...Keeping your moral up is also good good medicine...not so easy to do some days...prob best to sleep then

I wouldn't expect any from this baby for about six months. The price of eggs? Given what I pay for chicken feed (fresh wheat from a neighboring rancher, which is cheaper than the gawd-only-knows-how-old stuff from feed store), and the fact that all our hens are molting right now (when they shed feathers, the number of eggs goes way down), we are getting only about four per day out of two dozens hens (the 10 roosters - 7 of which need to become Annoying-Rooster-Pot-Pie - and the 14 guineas don't count), and not counting my labor, then I am paying somewhere near $4 a dozen for fresh eggs. I bet you aren't paying that much at the store...

no,sir...I am not. Wally mart wants $3.50 a dozen for medium eggs...and I seriously doubt they are of the quality of the fresh Amish free ranging or farm eggs I remember gathering as a child (and being terrorized by the rooster!)

That's outrageous! Our local store only charges $3 for an 18-pack of AA Large (white) eggs. Our average egg here at Love Acres would be the equivalent of Extra Large store-bought eggs and most of ours are cream-to-brown with an occasional blue-green (comes from a chicken known as an Easter-Egger). I think we have...um... four or five different breeds all living together (plus the Guineas) in the same coop (outside roaming the entire property during the day, but they come in at sunset every night).

Sounds like an excuse to me. None of ours are ill, but when you consider the horrible conditions that "factory" egg layers live in, it's surprising that they don't all die daily. Even the ones that claim to have free-roaming chickens (a lie) restrict them to about one square foot each.
