Nicest thing I can say is no, you don't.
And for the record, the "Philly people" on the interwebz do not at all represent real world Philly people when it comes to cheese steak preferences.

2 they live within walking distance of that God awful corner that houses those atrocities Pat's and Genos and they don't know any better

Well they are people I work with now, not online acquaintances.
But I believe Geno's has been mentioned. ;)

As I said, I prefer real cheese, provolone, not that concoction called "American" cheese. American cheese - Wikipedia

Affirmative. My back is letting me know all about it today.
Even if its only used twice in 1 season, this is relatively inexpensive and your back will thank you tremendously!!

When my kids were little I drove a school bus for a little while for some extra funds - I could take them with me.
All I had to do was get a chauffeur's license and then the company taught me how to drive and park the bus.

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know what I came up with for making twisted wire very easily - probably more easily than using a drill. I'm really liking twisted 31 (which acts as 29) for mtl and twisted 29 (which acts as 27) if you haven't used odd gauge wire you should try some. It usually gives the benefits of both the even gauges either side. I seldom use even gauge wire anymore because the odd gauges fit so kick better. I also find that the quarter rods in the geek vape
Cooler kit give gr at results. 2.25 and 2.75. Similar reasoning. Best of both worlds.

To make the twisted wire easily by hand.

Whatever length of wire you want to use to make the final coil. Cut twice as long.

Fold length of wire in half

Slide the looped area under the pocket clip of a bic pen

For the other side you can old it or ideally use channel locks or vice grips or something.

From Here you literally just roll/spin the pen in hand it's very fast.

Its way more consistent than other methods I've read about for manual twisted wire making. The way the bic pen clips the wire back from the end means there is real angle to twist consistently. If anyone has a better manual method of twisting wire that gives consistent output I'd love to see it. For now the bic pen seems to be the best I've tried and it's something I figured out for myself (I'm sure I'm not the first) and haven't ever seen Posted so I thought I'd mention it.

This method was 1st used from what I can recall, about 2yrs ago by a Reonaut named @dbrandt01... He didn't have a drill and talked about how easy it was while he sat and watched TV. He even made a video of it. I don't know but, it might still be on his YouTube channel. The problem with this method was it was a very loose twist and from one coil to the next it was inconsistent. Especially if you vaped dual coils, which quite a few were back then...

When i twisted, I much preferred a drill over that. I used this little thing, i forget the name, that would loop the wire around in the drill. Took 1 minute to make perfect twisted wire.

I quit twisting a long time ago though. I prefer simple builds.

I agree a drill works great. As does a variable speed dremel which has bits with holes in the end you can loop through. The point I wanted to make is that for a manual twist most are inconsistent but with the bic pen it takes a minute or two and is consistent.

My twists this way are tighter than the premade twisted I bought. The used a bic pen too? I find it simple to make a tight twist.

Well it was just something I did on my own. I figured someone else figured it out but never saw it. Anyway it seems some people had different or poor results. I have been quite happy with the consistency of the twists. And how tight they are.

Here let me Clarify. I wrap the other end around tweezers. And I spin until The wire breaks.

So one end looped around the pen the other end you grab both wires with tweezers and roll a couple Times.

This is the 31 twisted I get.

It is true. You may have to throw away the first inch nearest the pen it may the slightly tighter.

I'll try 28 and see what happened and compare it to some premade. That twisted 31 took under a minute. Fwiw.

I just used one of those screw in type cup hangers in the drill ...fit it in the drill, and just loop the wire over it .
Was fun, but working (or vaping) with a twisted wire didn't seem to be an improvement to me
Yup, "simple" is right up my alley :p

Here is the 28 I just made. I actually rolled the pen across a bud to make it even faster. The thicker gauge took about 90nseconds.

To
Me it seems like the wire is consistent and more than tight enough.

I understand it may not be good enough for others. For me. Its good enough. And to not have to go pull out s drill or other tool. All in this takes less time than using a power tool imo

Here's the close up. Rolling it on the bed was super fast and definitely helped it along as the thicker wire was more stubborn. With 31 gauge you're not going to get s super tight wrap as the wire breaks

Anyway I apologize if this is old news to others because it wasn't something I went and looked up online I just figured I would share

Also. All that said. The lightening vape 28/36 Clapton is probably as good or better. It's cheap. Coils last forever. And you don't have all the downsides of most Clapton wire which is 26/32 or bigger. But sometimes for
Me space precludes using Clapton. Even small Clapton like the LV stuff

Here it is. I do this occasionally...

Some people like loose twists, some like tight twists. When i did them, i made them so tight the end would snap. Tightest it can get, literally.

Tight vs loose nets different ohms too.

I did get a flavor improvement with twisted, but didnt like how it vaped. Maybe i will try it again one day. Never tried twisted SS.

    Cleaning and maintenance?
Hey folks. you know I love my Brassy, but I'm new to it. I'm looking for pointers or instructions for a thorough deep cleaning, and for regular maintenance.
I'm sure it's simple, but hive-mind information is priceless.
    What do you do?

Probably not exactly on topic, but certainly of interest is this thread on Tensioned Micro Coils.: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/tensioned-micro-coils-the-next-step.633436/
