Random pic of my desk in the deep woods when the sun happened upon it:

Random pic of a squirrel. This guy was fascinated by the human in the next tree over.

Sweet pichers, Ross! I haven't been huntin' in long, long time... :(

Good luck, my friend. :toast:
TBH, I'm just hanging out, not really hunting myself. Climbing into a tree stand before dawn in frosty temperatures just doesn't hold much appeal to me.

Now some of the guys who work for me are really into it, so I come down with 'em for a while, especially when it would otherwise be just one guy by himself. But it seems me being here is something of a jinx too, 'cause nobody has ever taken a deer while I'm here. Gonna head back to PA tomorrow to give them a better chance. :)

The jinx has been broken!

My two colleagues froze their bippies off in the trees between 6 and 9 this morning. Saw some deer, but had no shots. Then about 10:45, two does just sauntered by below the cabin. "Wow -- look at that!" "Well, go out and shoot one, will ya?"

Pic through the window about 5 seconds before the muzzle-loader went "boom":

Tenderloins or back strap first?
Backstrap. He's gonna pull it before the rest goes to the local butcher for processing & packing. They charge $50 to do the whole deer, which took us over 12 hours the one time we tried to DIY. Having it all vacuum packed and professionally labelled also does wonders for the spousal acceptance factor.
Also,.......will there be jerky?
I would think so.
Q: How long does jerky last?
A: Nobody knows. It always gets eaten too quickly to find out.

And then..

Except I'm not there anymore 'cause my wife insisted I had take her to see Joe Bonomassa in Philly last night.

But that was cool too! :D

Especially since the show was in a 160 year-old Opera House:

Ah, I love old opera houses. Beautiful, great atmosphere.

....and I love Joe!!!....The sound MUST of been fantastic!!!!
I think it could have been, but TBH, I wasn't impressed with the sound. I'm not sure why, but all the really high-pitched stuff sounded somewhat distorted to me, as though there was some clipping... :(

But yes, Joe sure can play! We already have tix to see him again at the St. Augustine Amphitheater in May.

Here's a very young Joe covering Jimmy:
