About those positive contacts......

Did I mention that they are Beryllium Copper with Silver contact pads??? ;)

Have you always used these? If not, when did you start? Does mine have that in it?

I don't mind cleaning frequently, I'm a mod-clean-freak :) pretty much the same routine as the aluminum, scotchbrite pads etc?

Super fine steel wool or equivalent Scotchbrite (000 or 0000) works great, but you have to work to get the shedded bits out of the magnets. Brasso takes less time to use and gets in the crevices easier.

corey. do you recommend anything on the contacts? like deoxite or something? i run low ohms .24 is my usual build

I spoke to Corey last week about that. He recommended Deoxite gold to be applied all along the top edge of the mod where it contacts the top cap. I did that plus applied to silver contact and also bottom brass contact screw. I got one of those Deoxite gold pens thru Amazon. Nice little pen, able to trace all the edges and magnet holes etc. Expensive @ $20+ but hey, CC mod deserves the best possible care. the Deoxite will also slow down any oxidation on the surface. My little CC hits like a freight train!!:vapor:

I need to look into this brasso stuff...:) have scotchbrite pads on the way as we speak.

Get it...BRASSo... :D

BTW I just finished a vid, a driptip rambling really...but, there's a 5 minute hiking footage compilation at the end, it's the best I've done to date...be on the lookout :thumb:

Yes, indeed! Like my good friend Rudy said, I like the Deoxit Gold Pen. Makes it easy to reach down in there and apply it to the negative contact. :)
Applying a little to the top rim of the body, where it makes contact with the cap, is indeed a good place to apply it as well.
It goes on clear, and helps prevent oxidation. Works great! :thumb:

Alright, I give up. I have to put myself up for one of these. I'll be able to get the money together by the time it's ready. I've got regulated BF mods coming out my ears, but I need a(nother) mechanical one, my Reo is getting lonely.

Meanwhile, while I roll through the whole thread (on pg 70 right now), what is the wait list like, and are there any changes I should know know?

Much respect for the work and general spirit in this thread.

The wait list stretched out almost a year but has been cut roughly in half now. :)

ETA Welcome!!

Indeed, my man Sloth is correct! :thumb: Wait times have been slashed by more than half.
I'd say that Feb./March is more like it. Perhaps even sooner! :D

Kracken, my new friend,... I've got you on the list! Just send me a message, if you don't mind, and we can talk options, preferences, and such....

Thanks!
