Yup, 6 wraps of 24 with a 3mm ID nets me about .3 ohms. Ramps up pretty quickly and great flavor.
No, no,....you had a good point. I was just giving my reasoning, is all.
Thank you, sir.
I've been meaning to get some 316L. Where's the gettin' spot?![]()
When I was a much (Much) younger man, I Cut my Teeth in a Machine Shop. And I would get Dressed Down if I cut a Thread without a Chamfer for a Lead Thread...
What, you show up in here out of nowhere and immediately begin to criticize?
J/k. Welcome. The fact that you're here indicates that your Assimilation is proceeding well. Remember:

OMG there's so many types of SS on there...
Can you do parallel builds with SS? Is it harder to work with?
What's with the "316l" vs "316" vs "dryllama"![]()
My (admitidly very rudimentary) understanding is that the L indicates that it's been annealed therefore having less springiness. It's exceptionally easy to work with, easier than kanthal or nichrome, and holds its shape well.
I believe the "L" stands for "Low Carbon".
Just ordered 250 ft of 24 and 26g 316L....
We shall see......![]()
Ya'll cray cray. I'm over here like single coil 7 wraps of 27awg kanthal around 2mm bit for .9ohms thinking I'm getting wild

Does 316l 26g = roughly kanthal 26g resistance wise?
