Does 316l 26g = roughly kanthal 26g resistance wise?

26g kanthal is more like ~ 28g s.s 316l. I have 28g tiger coil in z configuration in the stumpy. working great. I don't see a problem running 28g parallel doing the same.

Can I get you some coffee with that milk? :p

Freshly home from the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) trade show this weekend... so I'm a little wired and a lotta tired...

Grabbed this shot of Atlanta from my room just north of the city.

It's been forever since I experimented with different coils, and such... It's been 26g NiChrome, 2mm ID, 6 or 7 wrap duals, for the longest... I need to change it up a bit. Runnin' 90/10 vg/pg unflavored, my rayon tends to not wanna keep up. I'll try 2.5mm ID, and see what's what. But, what wire? How many wraps??? The only N80 I have is the 26g. I have Kanthal in 24 and 22....

You will open up some experiment room with some 26 gauge....able to do parallels and twisted without going too low in the ohms :D

I haven't regretted it in the least ;)

I got mine here

asaju305 | eBay

good pricing, nice variety and free shipping
You guys are horrible, horrible enablers.

I picked up a 3 pack 100 ft of 24, 26 and 28 gauge.

I'm going to be upset when this becomes a heating element around my property...

just threw on a SS clapton as described above....
Core wire: SS304 24 gauge
Wrap wire: SS430 28 gauge
6 wraps on 2.4mm ID
Ohms: .31

It is a good thing I make my own juice :p
Nothing tops the flavor of a clapton IMO (other coils may, but it comes to diminishing returns at some point...coils become harder to make then the return warrants), but they really suck the juice down.

Guys pay attention to SS heat capacity (or don't, what do i care) but the lower resistance of SS comes at a cost. Slooooowwwww. So make sure when coiling to factor that in. Meaning just because it says 0.3 ohms doesn't mean fast if it is 5 kgs of wire[emoji38]
