My appreciation also for you introducing the idea of using 316L SS wire. A 24 Ga. 2.5 mm 9 wrap single coil at .32 ohms. Rayon wick with afc wide open really brings my rogues to life. Much cleaner flavor and good vapor production.

My pleasure, I'm glad your enjoying, however I can not take credit for introducing it. I rarely have an original idea and when I do, well... let's just say the outcome tends to be rather unpredictable.

9 wraps of 24G is my sweet spot as well

I'm done with kanthal...game ooooover. vaping unflavored shows the true nature of the beast...it imparts zero taste for sloth, whereas (it turns out) kanthal does. SS also is easier to work with, sturdier, holds form like a boss. Tastes clean. Produces great. Ramps fast. Kanthal is dead to sloth as is cotton. Man. My vape life is ever changing

ETA also, SS is noticeably smoother - significantly so - than kanthal. Less throat hit for Sloth, which is (IMO) nice.

I lurk around here as I have since the beginning and admire Corey's works of art hoping one day to have one of my own - as you know from our talk - but I've been watching your progress with SS and wanted to chime in.

Excellent Slothy! I've been using SS for months and feel the same way. All my tanks have been switched over to SS and being used on my ProVari's. Makes my ejuice shine even more bringing out the nuances I never noticed with kanthal. I did side by side testing and of course SS came out the champ!

My CC is flying in Italy... Can't wait to use it together with my new Venom.. I sold all the dna boxes I had... Even a Lukkos black LE: I really love the mechanical and I know the CC will go directly up the Olympus of my boxes, because it's hand made, because contact are silver plated, because the quality of materials you use, because your passion.... How well does these cc mods do with clapton? Debating on buying some ud clapton wire but any mech that I've used 24ga takes a bit of ramp up time which I don't like.
But my rda is screaming for bigger coils than a 6wrap 26ga dual coil lol

I tried the single 9 wrap, 24g, 2.5mm ID, 316L...

Wasn't my bag...

I think I've settled on the dual 8 wrap, 26g, 2.5mm ID, 316L...

Super fast ramp, tons o' vapor....

I really like the SS.

Going to give it another go when I get back home.

But I may not be able to use it.

I've had some serious issues with metal reactions in the past.

Had to take out my 6 gauge ear ring and tongue ring years ago.

Had to give up a good job working with steel years ago.

Had my entire torso and legs down to my knees covered in hives, tongue swelled up, choking me and entirely white and ear swollen, blistered and infected all the way down to lymph nodes.

And I can taste and feel the SS on my tongue when vaping it.

This is why I don't use nichrome at all.

Didn't even consider SS doing the same for me.

Such a smooth, clean, powerful hit, too.

I'm broken hearted.

Maybe the wife will want some for her gdibi dna 40 squonker coming up hopefully. (Keep an eye out for that one, Corey. It's shaping up to be very promising.)

like any single 18650 mech, you will want to keep your claptons smaller...32/26 etc......or ramp up time may be a little slow...that being said, this CC has less voltage drop then any other mech I have used, so it will hit harder on that clapton then you might expect.

Oh, and that new coil I thought I was inventing? Apparently it has already been invented, and they are calling it the "boneyard coil"
I guess if you look at it the right way, it does look a bit like bones laid out parallel

FYI, Temco now carries SS316L under "Special Metal Wire" as of like 3 days ago - already ordered some 24, 26 and 28g - much prefer reputable Temco wire over stuff from eBay myself
