I don' know if it's been said before,.........but stainless is HARD...
I'm tryin' to get DB's SS mod caught up to where the brass and copper are, so that I can be working on all three, at the same time.
So far,....it's been slow goin'.....but we're gettin' 'ere...
You'll notice here, that I think we've found the limits of the rigidity of my little mill......
With everything locked down, we're still getting some chatter....
That being said, I think all six of these SS mods are gonna have the V1 squonk port...
This will allow me to make several passes, in order to clean things up. If any of the six are not down for the V1 squonk, just let me know. I just don't think I can make a clean V2, on SS, with my machine.
I haven't done any sanding yet, but after buffing on a scotch brite belt, I think these are gonna shine right up....

My guess is it'll be so small as to be unmeasurable, because of the volume of metal.

I suspect you're dead on with your assessment on the immeasurableness of the VD on the SS.

Corey, will these SS be the hardest material you've used for a mod, as in most resistant to damage and dings etc?
It is most certainly the hardest material, to date. It'll be more ding resistant, for sure. Though, it is heavier than aluminum, so it'll hit the ground with more force, if dropped....
If you have an SS floor, it could be honours even. But for my room (which i have just been sent to - can you believe that sh!) which is carpeted, the SS will suffer a lot less damage than an aluminium mod.

Yesterday, I sat my Aluminium (V1) and Brass (V2) side by side and decided I wanted a V1 for the SS if there was a choice
