Bummer Corey. Your neighborhood must be toward the end of the service area. They are always last. When we had the big ice storm in '07 my Father had to endure watching the hundreds of boom trucks from out of town parking in the ball field parking lot across the street from his house while he went without grid power for 2 weeks. Course being an electrician whom had a few I hooked him up with a portable generator. The majority were out of luck because there weren't any to be bought for hundreds of miles soon after the start of the storm. People were stealing them like crazy, even from stop lights where the city had set them at major intersections. It was eerie laying in bed at night pitch dark outside in the city just listening to the trees crack and fall everywhere.

While I'm going down memory lane I will post this pic of the crater from the explosion on I44 outside town when I was a kid in '70. It woke all of Springfield up and broke out windows all over town. My Father took us out to see the crater and what caught my eye was the big highway signs for miles bent over 90 degrees toward the explosion. 47,000 pounds of dynamite makes a big boom. Guy that fired the shot at the truck from the overpass was Bobbie Shuler a disgruntled teamster because TriState was running scabs. He will never see freedom again, assuming he is still alive. See that building on the right? It was a Stucky's that they had to level because it was damaged so bad.

Glad you are ok Corey !
Weather can be a witch !

Ice storms...ugh...Lived many years in Kansas. Yes, the cracking sounds at night are creepy !

Then moved back to California...did you know that an earthquake also can make a long continuous crack sound !? Horrifying !!

A mix...hound, st bernard and akita:)

Nice mix, I like mixes they are more unique. Many high class pure blooded dogs have serious health problems. Hip dysplasia is very common in german shepherds. Very awful to see how those dogs suffer.

Thanks for the well wishes, folks. :)

The video Mundy posted, shows what it looked like when it first rolled in. Shortly after that, all hell broke loose. 85mph straight line winds in some areas...

Some shots of my neighborhood....

They're estimating power to be restored to my neighborhood on 7/19....

Sorry to hear that Corey, glad you and the family are OK and good to see ya back, you had us worried. Maybe it's time for a vacation

What the hell? Don't worry 'bout a delay... I' d like to vape my CC yesterday, but circumstances are circumstances. Take your time, nobody would blame you for a delay right now. Get things done, then get CCs done.
Priorities change sometimes. Now's such a time.

I'm not quite sure how this weekend is gonna go.

I really hate the prospect of there being any delays,..... but I guess we'll just have to see how it goes....

I, for one, would prioritize you getting/keeping the homefront ducks in a row over my 2nd CC being strictly on time. That may not take any edge off of you stressing over delays, but it's a sincere sentiment. Life throws these curves at us, & we deal. That's humanity

A while ago you mentioned taking a break. Maybe circumstances have given you the opportunity for a little relaxer. You greatly deserve a couple of days to breath.
