Ok guys, my understanding is that if a model has been sold by the Aug deeming date then that mod can be sold for the next 2 years without filing with the FDA. A lot of confusion arises though of what constitutes a new model? Would a different material qualify as a new model if all the functional components are the same?
Example would be same mod different woods, metals, ultem, delrin, etc
My thinking is that one could use different materials... But it's the federal government so logic kinda goes out the window

dude, as far as the FDA is concerned, if you now wipe your new mod off with windex instead of armor-all before shipping it, it becomes a new product 
I have started a thread in the suppliers forum for some clarification as to ECF's position on this, honestly I don't think ECF will be looking to police anyone for the FDA, remember these are rules, not laws, and I don't believe ECF will be under any obligation to enforce these rules. there are certain parts of the world where vaping in general is completely outlawed, yet ECF still allows them to have a forum to discuss vaping here...

well the answer from ECF is: "there will be no changes in our policies - we have always welcomed members and suppliers on ECF from all over the world."
I guess in being an international forum ECF is not going to be enforcing any of the USA's FDA crap, didn't expect they would really, but now at least we know for sure exactly where we stand here with this whole thing

That's certainly encouraging news!
so what it really comes down to is, the only thing that's going to stop one of us modders from doing what we do here and modding in general would be the big bad FDA, and they're going to have a WHOLE lot of bigger fish to fry for the foreseeable future before it ever comes down to the big bad FDA really ever going after the little home craftsman building mods here by hand one by one, I'd say were good for a good long time at this point, and of course I'm still very hopeful and almost expecting at least some of this crap is gonna get overturned too, but even if not, we'll be ok for a good long time here I think

Perhaps we should organize and do road shows a few times a year, tell me that wouldn't be awesome!
