Quick update.....

I've gotten quite a few projects knocked out around the house this last week, that were long overdue... Everything from new bumpers and winch on the Jeep, to some plumbing and electrical items that needed attention around the house, even some odd brush clearing that had been put off for far too long... I've still got a few more items on the handyman list to check off, but I'll be gettin' back in the mod groove, next week. :thumb:

A quick check of stock reveals that there are quite a few mods, in various types of materials, just waiting to have small parts made for 'em, and to be finished out. Those materials include:

6061 aluminum, 7068 aluminum, 316 stainless, and 6AL-4V titanium. There is room in next week's batch o' mods, in case anyone is ready for a Classic mod, in one of the aforementioned materials. Just lemme know some time this week that you're ready, and I'll get you penciled in. :thumb:

Unfortunately, still no clear timeline on the production of the new styles. I'm at the mercy of the machine shop on the bodies and caps. They are covered up at the moment, so I'm having a hard time getting a straight answer on scheduling. I did get 'em to agree on doing 15 of each on the 3 new styles, so that's a pretty big deal. :)

First run will be 7068 aluminum. Depending on how that goes, we can look at different materials, as things progress.

While I've got you all here,....what's your opinions on doing the CC II in a more flattened shape, vs the flask type shape? :?:

I've been kicking it around a little, as it would solve the left handed vs right handed issue. It would basically look just like a Classic, just stretched a bit to accommodate the second battery. My original thought on the curved design was to make it a little more ergonomic, but depending on left or right handed operation, it could be a negative. I kinda like the idea of it being ambidextrous, like the others...

Just thinkin' out loud here, so to speak....sort of..... :)

My tootle-puffing style wouldn't benefit much from a dual-battery mod, and I'm with @btobw that the original Classic is the perfect size, so perhaps I should keep my two cents to myself, but...

I like symmetry and things that work equally well in either hand.

A little much, don't ya think?

I mean despite what he looks like... and what everybody says about him through PMs... I personally think Dan is a very nice guy.

Certainly he doesn't deserve physical abuse.

I got your back, Doffy. ;)

My opinion doesn't matter but, personally I prefer the curve for El Doble. Shortens the width slightly right? And makes it more pocket friendly I would think.

Straight would be cool too. Maybe shape some gentle valleys between compartments.

I think whether straight or curved the fitting of a larger bottle in there is most important.

I get by fine on a single 18650 and 8ml. Get about 8 hours before I'm down to 3.7v with dual coils. Longer on a single. I know some people don't and I think with the extra battery having enough liquid becomes the issue then.

Edit: Corey just spit balling. Don't want to open any "cans of worms" for you. Whatever the final mod is we all know how beautifully well-made it'll be. Really the only thing I think you should consider on the dual battery mods is the larger bottle.

Hand in your squonking license!

I go through 6 or better batteries a day, and I stopped counting bottle refills
