I'd think 1" x 2" by 4" would be sufficient. But I'm calling dibs on this. [emoji14]
Ummm... send 2. When you can source enough I'll PP you immediately for the price of mine. :D

All I can find is the material to cast into a block.

What are we talking here, maybe 14-15 oz of silver?? Guarantee the conductivity would be outstanding!!;)
Yeah, I think that's roughly what a finished mod would weigh, meaning there would be a lot of scrap...

OK, 1x2x4" is 8 cubic inches. That's 131 cubic centimeters. Silver has a density of 10.5g/cc, so that's ~1375 grams, call it 43 troy ounces. Current spot is ~$15, but you can never buy at spot, so in the end, that's probably $750 worth of silver.

I'm thinking a struck or extruded bar would be better than a cast ingot. Sadly, the 50 oz bars I can find are too thin, so one would probably have to buy a 100 oz bar, and yes, that's gonna be pricey.
Thank you Ross! Hmmmmm it would be uber cool though:D

Looks like a 100 oz bar is the only way to get it thick enough. There are 25mm thick extruded bars (not stock) where I'm pretty confident the other dimensions would suffice for two mods, and there are 30mm thick struck bars (in stock), where I'm less confident. I'll have to verify dimensions and check some other vendors.

Trouble is, this is .999 silver, which I'm guessing is gonna be pretty dang soft and Corey will hate machining it to the point where he'll never make more than one.

You guys are nutz
No

My dad is nutz.

He sold my grandmother's serving tray after she passed to the local jeweler for about $35 because it was hers and it was ugly. Took the first offer he got.

It was about 2.5 pounds of sterling silver. Maybe more.

Not to be disrespectful, but he's either very rich or a bubble or two off level

Family issues involved with that decision. Dead and living.

He even had an idea what it was worth in silver alone.

But he did pitch a fit with a grimace until the jeweler mentioned having to send it to a metal worker to melt it down and work it... Then he damn near threw it at the guy.
Uh, he already said he would. [emoji14]ervy:
He didn't say he'd do two yet.
