FYI

I don't know if this is appropriate to post here, but it seems like a good place.

I know BobC has kind of endeared himself to everyone watching this thread. I just wanted to let everyone know that Bob's father passed away last night.

My sincere condolences go out to BobC and his family.

Oh, man. That's terrible. So sorry to hear that, man.

Bob, my heart goes out to you, brother. I can't imagine what you're going through, right now. I'm so sorry.
Hang in there, buddy. Just let me know if there's anything I can do.

Thanks for letting us know, Tim.

Haha no not yet, didn't get home until 7, been kinda lazy tonight. Put one of my Vectors on it for a bit, and it sits nicely. Not sure which I'll dedicate to C4. Don't wanna adjust until I decide. Leaning towards the Thump though.

That sucks to hear.

My condolences to BobC and his family. I know what it's like to lose a father unexpectedly, mine passed the day before his birthday 9 years ago.

Alright, folks,...full report time...

I wanted to share this, in hopes that it may help someone. If it saves just one mod!!!...... :D

So,...what we had here, was a seizure of the button. I'm talkin',...the button was completely stuck, in the up position. Would not depress, at all. This is what I found......

Some juice had seeped in around the button. That juice had then dried, and become sticky like glue. I poured some alcohol around the button and let it sit for a few minutes. The alcohol slowly seeped in around the button, and loosed the bond, created by the juice.... I was then able to free the button from the button hole.

I try to fit the buttons with a slim tolerance so that there's very little play. I'd hate for the button to seem wobbly.... As a result of this slim tolerance, the button and button hole must be kept clean, preferably with alcohol and a Q-tip, followed by your favorite metal polish or wax, on a regular basis. How regular a basis, will depend on you're particular situation. I do mine about once every 2 weeks or so... However,... if your button starts to feel a little "sticky", that'd be a good time to do it.

I should think that something like Simichrome metal polish would work great, especially on brass.

So,...here she is,...ready for the trip home, first thing in the morning...

All better. :)
The ladies think alcohol is for cleaning wounds.

What do they think bleach is for?

I had some technical difficulties last night with C4.

When I got home from work(finally!) I needed to refill and swap in a fresh battery.
Simple, right?
Pull the top, unscrew bottle, fill bottle, screw bottle back on.
Pull drained battery, place on charger. Insert fresh battery.
Insert top assembly to body.

Why won't my top go on?
I can't get it to sit flush!:-x
What's going on? Did I break it? That can't be!
Try again...nope, still won't go together.:grr:
What the hell did I do?!

Inspecting everything....take a breath...I'll figure thi.....hey.....why do I see bright green in my squonk hole? Is...is...is that my battery?
