You know...You have no idea how much joy your posts about your son have brought me. You took it a few steps further than my parents did, but I skipped a grade here and there. When I finally got to experience connected computing, it was like the ultimate light bulb went off. I am so very happy for your son. Us old codgers can have a glimmer of hope through him, in a world where we were seeing the fall of the IQ. Thank you, thank you.
It may be that we have similar backgrounds in that sense that it seems you share that passion that I have about this.
And it pleases me to no end to look online at the Putnam County School District and see consistently healthy meal options. That's not common at all in the region we're in now. That's one thing eastern beliefs and medicine has had on us westerners for centuries thanks to China. The knowledge that the mind and body are intertwined and the idea that you put bad in one, you get bad out of both.
I'm ecstatic to see it mentioned that they'll be in the #1 ranked School District in the state with an average student / teacher ratio of 12/1.
Even moreso, it excites me that k12 is a publicly and fully funded option in TN. As I see it, that's likely the most flexible and indivually tailored option that exists in the country as well as being the home schooling option with the most and easiest accessed option for support and materials for lessons.
An option we've given serious consideration for our middle schooler since second grade, just never really fully had the option to explore.
And to top it all off we'll be surrounded by outdoors, arts and crafts centers, schools and programs.
Even though any school district in TN doesn't really rank much above the national average when looking online where standardized testing is heavily weighted in the numbers, I'm really excited about the different education options and opportunities for more of an individualized approach.
I would say especially for my oldest and youngest, except this year, with some encouragement and cash incentives, my daughter has really begun to shine and held honor roll all year. And the arts and crafts centers and programs are right up her alley.
I'm excited. Golf clap.
