You have no idea how much joy your posts about your son have brought me. You took it a few steps further than my parents did, but I skipped a grade here and there. When I finally got to experience connected computing, it was like the ultimate light bulb went off. I am so very happy for your son. Us old codgers can have a glimmer of hope through him, in a world where we were seeing the fall of the IQ. Thank you, thank you.
You know...

It may be that we have similar backgrounds in that sense that it seems you share that passion that I have about this.

And it pleases me to no end to look online at the Putnam County School District and see consistently healthy meal options. That's not common at all in the region we're in now. That's one thing eastern beliefs and medicine has had on us westerners for centuries thanks to China. The knowledge that the mind and body are intertwined and the idea that you put bad in one, you get bad out of both.

I'm ecstatic to see it mentioned that they'll be in the #1 ranked School District in the state with an average student / teacher ratio of 12/1.

Even moreso, it excites me that k12 is a publicly and fully funded option in TN. As I see it, that's likely the most flexible and indivually tailored option that exists in the country as well as being the home schooling option with the most and easiest accessed option for support and materials for lessons.

An option we've given serious consideration for our middle schooler since second grade, just never really fully had the option to explore.

And to top it all off we'll be surrounded by outdoors, arts and crafts centers, schools and programs.

Even though any school district in TN doesn't really rank much above the national average when looking online where standardized testing is heavily weighted in the numbers, I'm really excited about the different education options and opportunities for more of an individualized approach.

I would say especially for my oldest and youngest, except this year, with some encouragement and cash incentives, my daughter has really begun to shine and held honor roll all year. And the arts and crafts centers and programs are right up her alley.

I'm excited. Golf clap.

My first car cost less than one of them

Grin. So did mine. My dad was a cardiologist but he never gave me anything for free. Cept for my education.

My first car didn't move. I had just enough to buy a used car with a broken down coolant system. And spent the next 2 months after saving up to get it repaired.

Good times eh?

Might be.

If you want, I'd be happy to text you my real estate agents contact info. Just let him know exactly what you're looking for. He and his partner John seem to be very perceptive.

Neighborhood is calm, pieceful, quiet, beautiful besides some of the neighbors yards, a stones throw from over a half dozen state parks and game lands, just a few miles from "big city" community where everything you could need is (maybe 15 minutes to Cookeville).

And we're getting a mostly updated 2000+ Sq ft home with laundry room, 3 bedrooms plus a large master suite that includes it's own sitting room, open concept kitchen and family room with only a small dividing wall between the kitchen, dining room and living room, 2 full baths, large walk in closets, 7 or 8 (or more, they're friggin everywhere) closets total, jacuzzi bath tub and dual sinks in the master bath, garbage disposal, dish washer, oven/stove, built in large microwave, side by side fridge/freezer, cabinets, pantry and center island for kitchen storage out the wazoo, fireplace, over specked central air and heat, nice size sitting patio, large covered deck, small to medium size shed with overhang for shelter for mowers sitting on 1.6 acres bordering a small pond...

For $107.5K

Sloth's in huge approval of your words, Beck. You're a fantasatic father :)

If I may be blunt, you're just an amazing person - period.
Thank you, sir.

And yes, I prefer blunt... as a true person/friend would be.

And as evidenced by many of my posts... which happens to keep one of my big toes firmly dipped in hot water usually.

Thanks again, buddy.

Tell me about it.

I've driven completely through 44 states scoping out where I want my family to live.

This is where I picked. ;)

Did I mention there's fishing, hunting, bird watching, camping and nature trails right down the street?

:D

And even a beach for tanning and swimming not far away at one of the local state parks.

And TN BBQ.

Just sayin'

Tapatyped

No, you didn't mention it but somehow I was picturing it anyway.

All except for the beach part, I was thinking if it was only near the ocean that would be perfect. A lake beach ain't quite the same, but it's a beach.

You know, being from the east coast... and doing coastal beaches every summer of my life, I tend to agree there.

Though I do have quite fond memories of my grand daddy's stream fed lake and beach in Massachusetts. A private location that was happily shared with the local public.

Had its own dam and cliffs across from the beach, a floating platform for the spirited crowd and a sliding board that dumped right into the lake.

A nice... homey... place to enjoy the weekends and get away for a bit.

I'm hoping it can be like that for the kiddos... and not a several hour drive full of stress for the wife and I.

I have a special love for lake beaches, myself - for me there's something about seeing other side, the trees or whatever it may be.
One thing I really enjoy about our condo timeshare in OCMD.

It overlooks the bay... faint tree line off in the distance... 3 short blocks from the ocean.

Best of both worlds.
