Look forward to getting my silver contacts! Thanks, Corey!
Plus,......a little somethin' for the REOs....

Welcome, sir.So I'm a little late to the party 'cause I was 1000 miles from where they got shipped to, but now I'm finally back:

Thanks Beck, Beck's wife, and Corey!
my advice is to try it out using the same wraps you normally would with kanthal....it will be a little lower ohms, but the heat flux properties of SS is also different, so try a build as you normally would, and adjust from there. So, you all have me curious about the SS wire!
My lady and I are single coil users. She runs @ 1-1.25 ohms, I run @ .75 ohms.
MTL using RxW wick on 2.5 od coil.
Been going back and forth between 30 gauge twisted and 28 gauge single wire coils.
I assume using the SS I would need to recalculate number of wraps to get to desired resistance since the SS runs with less resistance than comparable kanthal?
I'm on the fence whether to order 28g or 30g or both and experiment.
Any thoughts? I want the most surface area to get to desired resistance but not so many wraps that it won't have a nice fit using a Nuppin or RM2 atty or delayed ramp up time.
Got my Chi-Narda in todayI think it found a good home on the 7068

coil parameters: 2.5mm ID, 28 gauge wire, 6 wraps.....
Kanthal 1.15 ohms, heat flux per watt 15.43 (heat capacity 16.99)
SS 316l 0.59 ohms, heat flux per watt 15.43 (heat capacity 20.8)
adding just one more wrap only brings the SS ohms up to .68, but brings the heat flux down to 13.37 per watt
..............that is fantastic!!! Symmetry! Is that a black bottle?
