I'm still waiting for distroblotto to do it :D

I think I did it a long time ago, but I forgot. But as you would expect the conductivity is superb. Gotta keep it clean though.

The problem with voltage drop tests is that it's difficult to determine how much of the "drop" is actually battery sag. Thus, you can never compare one person's results with another person's.

BIL is doing some wiring work on his house and I'm waiting for him to return my Fluke. Did a quick test on Brassy, Copper, 6068 and SS using a Fat Daddy voltage tester and four brand new freshly charged HG2's to 4.2 volts. Without load, voltage drop across the board was about .6 with Copper coming in at .5. Under load with the same Narda built to 0.5 ohms on all, the voltage varied between 3.7 and 3.9 with Copper coming in the highest. Not really a scientific result but the seat of the pants test is telling me it's not really enough to worry about.

I'm having a little sticky top situation with my alum CC. Most of the time it's really hard to pull off to the extent that yesterday I put a rubber glove on to stop my hand from slipping off.

Each time I refill the bottle I take some iso alcohol and clean the top edge of the base and with a Qtip clean the underside of the cap. I clean inside the magnet holes and around the magnets on the top. I'm using the soft Italian bottle and sometimes there a little puddle under it which I also clean out.

The top on the brass snaps into place and pops off easily.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Rock the top cap back and forth just a wee bit from the sides before pulling it off...;)

So I would guess the .18 that both my Reo's are coming in at is pretty good then???

I took the brass to work so, I tried a firmer waggle on the Alum now that i"m home. Much easier! Thanks db!

btw, the Brass has already got a nice collection of grubby, greasy, fingerprints....um...beginning patina on it.

Yeah,...the difference between a loose fitting cap, and a tight fitting cap is .001" to .002".

That's one or two thousandths of an inch.... That's a pretty tight margin...

With the variance in thickness of the nickel plating on the magnets, of 1 or 2 thou...., it's always a challenge trying to get it just perfect.... But try, I do. :thumb:

I love the precision and that, combined with the art that's in these pieces, is why I wanted to get one.

Indeed it is. Don't think the FDV is as precisley acuurate as the Fluke test will be as i'm sure it pulling a bit more power itself, but it was what it was. Care to share your testing technic MH? Thanks man!
Should have my Fluke back pretty soon.
