In the mid 70's I went to an Albert King show at Antone's. Albert invited "Little Stevie" on stage to Jam. I had seen Stevie play before with the Cobra's, but this was the night that opened my eyes to just how brilliant SRV would become.

I would wager that I was there too. I first moved to Austin in '75 and the first night I got here I went to see Albert King at Antones. What a time that was...we probably would've seen each other at Rome Inn or Soap Creek too!

The pic I posted was at Jovitas the afternoon of the night the Cobras had their first reunion at Threadgills. I first met Chris in CC around '73 or so when he started coming around to see me, Cid and Joe play.

A buddy of mine from Fort Worth was good friends with Delbert McClinton & Bugs Henderson so I spent many great evenings at Soap Creek Saloon & Armadillo World Headquarters. Great memories (from what I can remember).
