Wonder how Rossums property is doing?

Won't know until sometime tomorrow at the earliest. Contractor who used to live on the same street but just recently moved 20 minutes south (and inland!), who did a bunch of remodeling for us when we bought the place, will assess damage as soon as the County allows access -- and right now, they're not allowing anyone out there.

It's calmed down here significantly, still quite breezy and raining but it's not near what it was an hour or two ago.

No! Earthquakes come without warning and thus tend to inflict lots of fatalities and injuries.

In the 21st century, hurricanes come with plenty of warning and only induce loss of life or limb on those who are too stubbornly foolish to get out of the storm's path (at least in the US).
