We're stayin' in town. My folks don't live too far from us, so we'll be spending a good part of the day with them.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Told the wife to take the kids to a nice restaurant for dinner and enjoy her day instead of slaving.
Think she made reservations at Ruby Tuesday.
Damn shame she don't have a designated driver...

I haven't been there in a while. I heard they were open on Thanksgiving.... I kinda feel sorry for their employees, but then again.....I'm sure some of 'em are glad to have the opportunity to make a little extra money, eh? Folks gotta tip well on Thanksgiving, I would think...

I bet some employees who have to work holidays are unhappy but many others aren't - it all depends, y'know? I work every holiday here. But I have no family in the area, so I don't mind it at all. I'm working tomorrow but the phone prolly won't ring much and I only have one check-in. Bet the restaurant folk will be slammed tho...

I've worked a t-day or 2 in the food service industry.
Never again, thank goodness.
There's a reason many of those people don't have a place to enjoy a family meal, methinks.
Let's hope service doesn't reflect that. Fingers crossed.

Wife and I are having a early quiet crab feed for the two of us when I wake up from the nightshift then she's headed to my BIL's place for dinner and I'm headed back to work ( 6pm-6am) where I'm cooking a big ol prime rib for the crew. It's a great feeling knowing that this will be one of the last few holidays that I'll ever have to work.
Another friends n' family dinner is planned for the weekend.

Now that I'm retired, what's left of the family, have moved away, following life's path.
It's just another regular day, and that time of the year to load the freezer with turkeys.
So, warm phone calls, turkey in the oven,(but not the goodies to go with it), relaxing drinks with hubby, and football on the TV are all that's in store.

Nothing tomorrow. Going to my sister's on Saturday for dinner. Not much family around, so we get together when we can. Tomorrow will just be a regular day except I don't have to go to work.

Sticking around here too. My parents and daughter/son in law/grandkids are coming over for the family meal.
Got a jump start on Black Friday today and bought a new fridge and microwave. I hate Black Friday shopping (idiots) with a passion and would generally pay extra not to have to deal with the crowds so it's pre Black Friday specials for me.
