+1.

I certainly haven't eliminated them, but cutting back (and keeping the portion sizes reasonable when I do have them) made a big difference to me as well.

Yeah I've found with eating more raw and nutritious food I don't need to eat as much also. I've noticed I don't get cravings like I would after eating empty carbs or sugar. It is really making a difference! Feeling good and losing weight is practically effortless! :)

When you eat a big helping of carbs (even starches like bread, pasta, or potatoes) your body turns them into glucose more-or-less immediately. Then it has no choice but to produce a bunch of insulin to keep your blood sugar under control. Guess what that insulin makes your cells store the excess glucose as? Oh, and then when the sugar is under control again, some of that insulin is still there and and your blood sugar keeps dropping, making you hungry again!

ETA: Well worth a read, from the (pre-failing) NY Times in 2002:
What if It's All Been a Big Fat Lie?

Yes! This is the path I'm on and it really is making a difference. Thanks for the article! Hadn't read that one but it lines up with everything else I've been reading and watching on the youtubes.

I'm right there with you guys! Refined sugar is poison, as far as I'm concerned. Hard habit to kick at first, but once you're off of it,.....life is good. :)

BTW..... expected delivery date is Monday the 3rd!

Just in time for some 4th of july POWER vaping.

I certainly do. It was foisted upon us by the same FDA that's now trying to kill vaping, and it's the reason why we have an epidemic of obesity and diabetes. What they didn't tell us is that the stuff at the bottom is metabolically darn near the same as sugar!

What really kills me is that fact that this stuff was known and understood 15 years ago (as evidenced by the data of that article), but it still hasn't really caught on, and if you ask your typical doctor or nutritionist, they still advocate "low fat".

Not to mention, that your body only produces X amount of insulin in your lifetime. Guess what happens when it's all used up?
