I picked up some Marinetime rite size U blue foam to use for my blank carts. Is there any particular way to cut and insert the foam?

I've seen many different ways to do it, but just curious if one works better than another.

I've tried various ways to use the blue foam and my best results have been using it as a plug with the old straw mod:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11421-cart-mod-better-refilling.html

As for the plug, I cut it 1.5 times the dimensions on the top of the cart (510 for me) and about an 1/8 inch deep and squeeze it to fit the opening - keeping the top of the foam up - the underside is more 'fuzzy' whereas the top texture is better for not catching the metal mesh of the bridge.

The extra length and width act as a 'spring' so it doesn't drop to the bottom and the atty bridge will determine how deep it goes - I put it even with the top to start. I insert the straw - I use a Johnson & Johnson safety swab shaft cut to 11/16ths and I cut diagonals on both the top and bottom on the same side. The one on top isn't as severe an angle - I'm just trying to keep it off the atomizer bridge.

You don't have to remove the plug to fill and it doesn't leak when full even if you turn it upside down and shake. With only an 1/8th inch deep for the plug all the rest of the cart well is filled with ejuice and I get 40-45 minutes on each fill up with this method. ymmv, of course, depending on how light or heavy you vape.
