Blue Foam?

I researched the blue foam mod and made a trip to my local petco to pick up some. Once I got there all I could remember was that it was MarineLand blue foam. So I picked up what I thought resembeled the bag that I saw at 9.99. I get it home, rip it open to find... this looks NOTHING like the picture of the foam here. I didn't look close enough to the bag and grabbed "Rite-size V" instead of "Rite-size U" I'm curious to see if any one else made the same mistake and if the size "V" worked at all. It holds a bunch of juice, I'm just wondering if the size to cut it is the same and how well it lets go of the juice. Any advice would be helpful. I'd rather not have to throw away 10 bucks if I don't have to.

If it looks like this, it might be the same. People have used all types of fish filters. Fluval seems to be popular as well.

the one that I bought is two pieces, one blue one white. it's not quite as pourus as that. To me it almost seems like a hybrid of the blue foam you show there and the fluval/polyfill type. I'll try and take a picture of it and post it once I figure out how.
