The Mini GLV-2 is a 3.7v (510) device using a single protected 16340 3.6v 880mAh battery.
It is available from Great Lakes Vapor: http://greatlakesvapor.com/ for $95.00 shipped.
I ordered mine with no options (standard flat black) and it took 2 weeks from date of order to my door.
Along the way I was updated several times via email as to the progress of my order.
It arrived packaged in bubble wrap enclosed in a mailer box. Enclosed were 3 pieces assembled (top cap, battery tube, and bottom cap). Along with a packing slip, that is all you get.
Initial impressions:
A lot smaller than I thought it would be by pics and reviews I had seen. Thats a good thing IMO though.
Fantastically machined and polished.
Great button.
Fits comfortably in my hand, just as I had hoped.
I inserted my freshly charged brand new Protected Trustfire Grey 16340 battery and got down to vaping.
(Note: I got 4 of the batteries above from Dealextreme dot com for $10.42 shipped... $5.21 a two pack)
Here is a list of cartos / attys I have used on it with ZERO problems!
Royal Smoker E2/v4 carto
LiquidXpress standard carto
Standard 510 atty (came with Riva)
LR 510 atty (not sure what supplier)
LR 306 atty (Genuine Joye)
LR 306 atty (Cisco)
They all connected fine and when seated snug they range from 1 turn up from flush to flush. The only one that went completely flush was the Joye LR 306 atty. The draw was light - med IMO with all of the above, just fine for me. There is at least one other review out there stating a problem with cartos making connection. I repeat I have had ZERO problems with any that I own.
Coming from 510 manuals then eGos I did notice the extra voltage. I don't have a meter, so I don't know what I am getting but it feels more like 3.7v than the 3.1v the eGos actually put out (What I have been told, never checked myself) I really noticed it most with the LR 306 while dripping. There is a caramel apple juice I like on the eGo, but the 16340 battery was too much for it, the caramel flavor was lost.
I like the size and performance of the 16340 battery and I get 7-7.5 hours of pretty constant vaping on brand new batteries. The vapor stays solid right to the end. It seems normal, then one hit seems weak and a couple more after that and your sure you need to swap out and charge.
I find the Mini very comfortable both in the hand an in the pants pocket. I never carried my eGos in the pants pocket for fear of accidental firing. Not a problem with the mini GLV-2. They button is firm and clicky, but not so firm it would cause fatigue. I was told its a military spec button with over a million clicks before any trouble might occur. IMO it feels like the button and whole unit will last me forever.
Vapor and flavor are subject to so many variables I will avoid commenting other than saying it works every time. I truly believe that I am a 3.7 kind of guy. It works for me. You have lots of options as far as attys and cartos to fine tune your vaping experience.
In my opinion value is excellent on the Mini GLV-2. If you are an eGo user consider that the batteries only last a few months (in my experience) and the price of eGo batts is pretty high. Yes the Mini cost you 95 bucks, but I expect that it will last me years, and with batteries available at $2.60 shipped as stated above you are going to come out ahead compared to the ego over time. Plus you are getting better performance and looking good while doing it.
