One month with the eGo Booster

It's sooooo nice to be able to play with different voltages, to get the most out of an attys resistance and find a certain juices burst point.
I'm fiddling with it all the time, gently though
I only use 510 Lr's @ 1.5 Ohm's so it's all I had to test with. Not the best hardware, I agree, but it worked great for my sluggish atty's that were piling up! Haven't popped one yet using the booster
The ego PT is a regulated 5v and the ego booster's max is 4.7v. So if I use the booster on my PT, what voltage will I end up with? I'm guessing 4.7v.
I ordered the ego booster at $67.69 CAN and after the currency conversion my account showed $70.54 USD but then when the money was accually charged to my account it was up to $71.34. I don't get where that extra 80 cents comes from and either does my bank. I'm not going to bother Happy Vapor for 80 cents but it is curious. Anybody have an explanation for this? I haven't received it yet so I don't even know if it is worth $67 but I'm thinking it will be.
Are you sure? Would that mean that off the cord, the eGo is 3.7, but on the USB, it's 5v? I don't think that's right...
You're right, I was wrong. I was thinking of one of my mods that is reg 5v. So now my question, which I think I already know the answer, is if I use the booster on my ego PT (3.7v) plugged in or unplugged, I can get 4.7v out of it?
You bet. 4.7V no matter what voltage you're putting into it, provided its in the range of 2.5-6.0 volts.
Just make sure you're not sucking more current out of your passthrough than it can handle. For instance,
if you drive a 1.5 ohm atty at 4.5 volts, your passthrough needs to be able to handle 3A.

I don't have a clue as to how many amps my PT can handle. How do I find out? The website gives very little info.
Unfortunately, from what I've seen most of the equipment for sale has very little in the way of listed specs (or none at all).
You could always try to E-mail the distributor you bought it from, they might be able to help, although from what
I've seen a lot of them don't know themselves.
Best thing is to be safe and use SR atties on the eGo Booster rather than LR atties. With LR atties you are driving most
equipment right at the edge anyway (if it works at all), and the added voltage of the booster could push it over.
You won't hurt the Booster, but you can hurt your equipment.

The eGo PT is not a true passthrough, i.e., it does not pass 5V through to the atomizer/cartomizer. It merely charges the eGo's 3.2V battery while you are vaping it.
And that is why the Ego Booster has no problem with it.
