I recently bought a smok Koopor Mini 2 that goes up to 80W, and I'm starting to think it was a waste of money. It came with a brit baby tank and I just ordered a 5-pack of smok double coils online. I have been using juices from vapecraft and I wasn't getting a great taste from them in the first place and now it's gotten worse. I replaced the coil, refilled it, and pressed the button and an actual FLAME came out of the top. Luckily I didn't have my mouth on it. After that, I would hold the button in for about a second and a "low battery" message appeared (my battery was on like 70%). I'm hoping I will not have to replace the entire mod, but what do you recommend me to do?

I have to ask, did you prime that coil that flamed? Just curious. Either way it reading low battery seems like it should be replaced.

I'd keep the tank though, just be sure to prime the coil before firing it up.

I have the same tank, use the same coils. Put a few drops in each of the vent holes and around the top of the coils (the cotton parts).

Put it in the tank and fill, then let it set at least 15 minutes. Then start just below the low range of the coil. Think that one is 30w, so 20-25w, then increase a little at a time until you get to where its good for you. I'm usually around 45w, get good flavor and decent clouds.

@jfcooley beat me to it--how did you prime the coil before filling the tank?

Also, mow many Watts did you start with, and what wattage caused the flaming?

Last of all, what battery did you use? Need to know the brand name, model, everything you know about it. Low or weak battery usually means that the battery is nearly discharged or that the battery is not capable of firing the mod at the selected Watts.

I consider it an honor that I actually have advice you would have :)

Like already said, we need more info to give accurate suggestions.

What battery?, name brand & any markings on wrap.
You might be using an insufficient CDR battery and or a low quality re wrap.

If you pressed the fire button with a dry head the cotton certainly could catch on fire.
New/ unused heads must be fully saturated (primed) before pressing the fire button.

What resistance heads are you using?
At what power level?

Do not vape it, don't pass go. Also, don't give "hell" to whomever sold it to you unless you a) know for sure it's not user error or a bad battery and b) it's a vendor, which doesn't necessarily have ANYTHIGN to do with QC on a product's MANUFACTURER. That's not a good way to get your device warrantied, be polite.

I'm in agreement that priming is important, and the cotton COULD have ignited if you vaped it without priming it at high wattages. The tank is likely not ruined, but may need extensive cleaning and TBH if I had a tank FLAME at me, and especially if the two came as a kit, you may actually want to send both back, in case it's a connection problem or the tank has a flaw in it causing the problem.

I can't really say what's the case with the information given so far. Your mod may be misfiring, if you didn't buy your batteries from a verifiably decent supplier, you may have rewraps of bad batteries causing problems. If you bought the batteries from a vendor, there is a fair to middling chance that they may be rewraps as vendors really want the highest margins they can get, and may skimp on battery safety, which is usually shortsighted but unfortunately shops don't think "a vaper without a face is an unhappy vaper, and unlikely to purchase any more e--liquid and supplies from me...." I wish they WOULD think like that.

Go to Mooch's blog to find out more about safe batteries for your mod and approved list of vendors: Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum Always buy original!

If your batteries are reading low now, you MAY have had a slight thermal runaway, and I wouldn't trust the batteries now even if they are authentic. With that said, we need to know what wattage you first fired it at, etc. It sounds like it may not be user error IF you were priming correctly AND this was a sudden happening, in which case I'd return to the brick and mortar you bought it from (unless it was online) and see if they can help you trouble shoot, and either return or repair. I'm surprised you aren't getting much flavor from your coils, but DL does tend to actually be LESS flavorful for me, generally, than a smaller MTL tank. You're inhaling straight into your lungs, though really, it may have more to do with your coils and mod generally, some people don't find much flavor in certain tanks or coils, for whatever reason, than others.

If you bought it online, I would consider returning all of it for a warranty, and to make sure you watch several reviews/tutorials for the device on YouTube (I do that with all my new stuff, not so much for the review, as for me often a video demonstration is worth more than all the words in the manual.

It would be good if you provided a bit more information like has anything changed in your vape, how you were priming (if you were-- flavor can be sacrificed quite a bit if a coil isn't properly primed, especially sub0hm coils which do require a bit more "break in" time than smaller coils. Hope you get things figured out.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Some vape manufacturer's equipment are better made than others, sounds like it's time to do some research as to who makes quality equipment.

Nobody needs Josh to make the evening news with,, {{{ e-cig burn's 80% of a mans face when he went to use it. "" Flames came at me when I pushed the power button."" }}}
Hope he comes back to answer the few questions all the good / experienced folks here need to know so help can be directed more precisely .......

Thanks for all the replies guys, it turns out I'm stupid and forgot to prime the coils first. I went through 3 coils before I realized, and the burning of the dry cotton caused the flame...Rookie mistake, thanks for the help

PS- You're right, I solved the issue and haven't been back to my computer since...My b
