The war on vaping is predictable. I read recently that worldwide tobacco sales are $1 trillion per year. Every dime of that benefits somebody. A lot of those people are not happy. They have been putting food on their family table by letting people die. It's no surprise that those same people could be lying hypocrits.

Now, to put that into some perspective...........Total Sales worldwide include retail Price total with massive Included TAXES. Taxes that Feed millions that have no Idea they are Complicit. Government involvement in tobacco Sales does involve Government Distribution of Billions of those Sales Dollars.
China Government Owns their Tobacco business.

Not to mention that the FDA is in big pharma's pocket. Margaret Hamburg, commissioner of the FDA until March 2015, is being sued. While in charge of the FDA, the FDA concealed some pretty serious side effects from Levaquin, a drug manufactured by J&J. Her husband is a hedge fund manager whose company had invested heavily in J&J (the company held as much as $500 million in stock). Finally this year the FDA admitted that Levaquin should only be used as a last resort since the risks in using it is so high. The FDA has already documented that over 5,000 people have died using Levaquin and tens of thousands have suffered life threatening and debilitating illnesses as a result of taking the drug.

What kind of Orwellian double speak is that?

Don't pee on my foot and tell me it's raining. What he meant to say is he can't make the money off of YT. This whole thing smelt bad to me from the beginning and now it is starting to stink of dead fish. After the deemings, there aren't going to be enough vapers to care about this movie and not only will he not make any money on it but it will also do no good. If he wants to either profit or do some universal good, he needs to open release it, NOW.

Not going to argue this but I am going to say it once.
The refusal to do all you can to stop the deeming because you think someone else might derive some benifit from thier efforts is comparable to shooting yourself in the foot to ruin your shoe so noone else can use it........just brilliant.

A trillion dollars is a lot of money. Every penny is collected from the billion smokers in the world today and redistributed in all kinds of ways, most of it via taxes. Pretend earmarking for feel good stuff like education and health care is used to insure a strong constituency for tobacco taxes. Soccer moms figure tobacco helps put their little johny through school. Public health people know where their bread is buttered. Most of the people who read the lies know they are lies but they also know they benefit from tobacco taxes. We don't encounter true evil face-to-face very often.

Jup! Aaron didn't go into the detail of it being levaquin, but he did mention this in the webinar. Also that the head of the FDA tobacco dept is also a former lobbyist for Glaxo Smith Kline who make the Nicoderm CQ patches. He said nicorette gum, but I'm not sure they make that. He is so worn out, you can hear it in his voice and see it in his face, so that may have been an error, not sure.

Not going to argue this but I am going to say it once.

I totally agree, but of course, we're all entitled to our opinions.

Love that!

I appreciate all those who are willing to help. I think this is one of our best shots at making lawmakers take notice if enough people see it! I really think it has the potential to help in lawsuits that have been filed too.

If it is all about saving lives, why not to give it to Netflix (and others) for free? As I see it now it was made for profit.
EDIT: And, as far as I know, only ads were released. It's a shame. No, I will not call Netflix.

If you two would bother to watch the webinar, you could speak from knowledge instead of ignorance.

More things we can do, and I'll update the first post with this also.

contact the vendors you use (or any vendors) ask them to feature a link to ABLs prominently on each page of their site. I will contact ABLs and find out if they have a preferred link and update this post and OP.

Talk to B&M's in your area. See if they would be willing to print out a small (many per sheet) ad with links (again I'll contact ABLs for preferred links) make copies, cut em up and put one sheet in each customer's bag. I can even make a template if I have the avery stuff on here (this is a borrowed computer so not sure) and post it on here.

Disclaimer: I'm in no way affiliated with A Billion Lives (ABLs) and have never spoken with them. This webinar of Aaron asking for vapers to get involved was brought to my attention by @clnire and I think it's important so I'm doing what I can. I appreciate all those of you who are also doing what you can.

First and foremost, I want to thank @Debadoo for taking this and running with it. I am under a work crunch at the moment, and never would have worded it as well as she did.

Indie documentaries always struggle to get distributed. Some only end up in film festivals and rarely branch out for mainstream distribution. I can't blame whoever produced the documentary wanting to recoup their investment. Even in this age of digital video a polished production is not made on the cheap.

I hope they do manage to increase their audience and increase the dialogue on an important issue. One that really reaches beyond just vaping, but a look at government intrusion driven by lobbyists and large multinational corporations, rather than an evidence based, scientifically sound rationale. Let's face it, many decisions about challenges facing us, from climate change to healthcare access (especially with all the nutty US insurance issues) from food production to car safety, are frequently driven not by what's objectively known, but by what special interest groups can achieve.

WATCH THE VIDEO!!!! @Eskie is correct. And this movie is not really about vapers and vaping, although this is the subject they choose to expose because it is so controversial at the present time, it is about Government Corruption and Lies. Misleading the public for their own profit and gain. In more areas than just vaping!

I have no affiliation with the movie or the people involved. I just think this is such an important topic to expose to the masses, I want to help in any way I can. It's not about "lining the movie makes pockets", or profits from the movie. It is all self-funded (except for minor contributions from others, but this is process costs $$$$$$$). I would like them to at least recoup their expenses so they can move on to the next topic. I am eager to see the movie, and tell my family and friends about it, vapers or not. Eyes need to be opened about the corruption in our government. Whether people listen and do something, well, I don't know. Home of the Free? Not anymore!

The entire movie was released in NZ. There was a premiere event. It was very expensive & time consuming to make this documentary. It's very high quality. This is not some random, bodunk, pos film just thrown together. It is very well thought out, edited, & available in formats for streaming in HD, & theaters. They have borne this expense themselves & done it for Vapersn to the exclusion of other documentaries they could have been doing to support themselves & their families. I don't see a problem with recouping their expenses at a minimum. Do you work for nothing?

We need a Billionaire willing to Take a Tax write off in the form of a 95 minute PSA, on a National Level, on multiple channels. ;)

Then maybe Netflix would go  and continue Releasing to their audience.
:)
hehehe that would be great! You know any???

Indeed they did. Would love to know which members of Congress were in attendance.

Sadly, A Billion Lives FB page says they won't (can't) release information on attendees. However, in reading the many supportive FB posts, I came across one from someone who attended the screening. He said that over 100 people saw the film; that there was a standing ovation at the end; and that some people in attendance wept. I would call that "well-received!"

This might also be a good time to (again) write to our representatives and ask them if they saw the film.

Somebody put up money, may be the film makers themselves. Is the problem that they aren't finding distributors in other nations or the people who charge for watching think there isn't enough viewer interest? These days I'm surprised a service like netflix can't offer the video on some commission basis. Usually when a product is created some thought is given to how it will be marketed. May be change the name from A Billion Lives to A Billion Criminals. If you try to switch to vaping you'll be breaking some law somewhere. That's what seems to be developing at this stage.
The part of the problem is getting the word out about the film. Most countries & local govt's have banned any advertising about vaping, just as they did for smoking. Not everyone lives online, or they skip over ads, nor do they subscribe to vaping magazines. Many, many vapers here in the US don't even know about the DD, & sadly that includes shop owners. Word of mouth helps.
