I'm surprised mine didn't since most twins are born early...mine were born 2 days before their due date and were both just over 5 and half pounds...yes all my babies were small!
My first set of twins were a week late! They weighed 6 lb 10 oz each. My second set were induced 2 weeks early when my water sprung a leak. They were 5 1/2 pounds. Both sets came home along with me and had no problems. One of my grandsons came 1 month early and weighed just under 5 pounds. He just turned 13 and he's hell on wheels. 
Angel, my son was nervous as well when his first baby was born. He transformed instantly into a confidant daddy. One of the most precious memories I have is walking in the delivery room right after grandson was born and seeing my son hold his child for the first time. The look of love on his face was amazing. Your son will be the same. 
think of a chocolate chip cookie that is at least half chips, but not only chocolate chips others as well and some other goodies tossed in for even more delicious little assaults on your taste buds.

2 nurses and I delivered CG, the Dr. thought that there would be more than 3.5 hours start to finish and he didn't make it. One nurse handed him to me fresh out of the oven so to speak. I set him on his mother, the other nurse clamped the cord and I cut it. A real bonding experience for him and I.
I cut the cord for my daughter. For my son, he was so early they didn't want to leave anything to chance and just took him for examination. He came out so quickly that my wife only had to push once or twice and there he was. Didn't even have time to say much in the form of encouragement or anything.
