OK so I have been mostly analog free for the last 2 weeks, slip up here and there but on the whole i feel I've done very well. And how does fate reward me? Pneumonia ! that's how. How is it when i smoke a pack a day I'm fine i feel healthy ....well except for the inability to run or take a flight of stairs lol

Then i quit, the docs say you'll be healthier, friends, neighbors even strangers all say quit it will be better for your health.

And i get pneumonia wtf lmao

now here is the truly baffling part, i can't vape .... every time i try, regardless of flavor or lack thereof i hack like crazy, but i can take a drag off a cancer stick without effect.

Apparently the world has gone mad and I'm living in the twilight zone.

Doh! I'm sorry you have pneumonia! I have had that once in my life, and that was more than enough!

Ironically, I can relate to your situation. I would say that the whole time I smoked analogs, I got sick less than most of the people around me. And, I also would continue to smoke even when I had pneumonia, the flu, a cold, etc. I would cut back, but I would still do it. I am interested to see if my "resistance" stays the same now that I vape, or if it changes at all. It would be awesome if I got sick even less, because that would mean once a year or less! I mainly quit for all the other benefits of not smoking analogs - no smell, less cost, etc.

Well, I hope you feel better fast! And, as everyone has probably already told you, get lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and don't push yourself. Pneumonia can turn really ugly really fast!

Your body goes through a ton of changes once you quit smoking, tough it out, keep vaping even bump up you nic for a short time to keep you off the Analogs. Once your system starts to realize its not taking in all those bad addictive chemicals and nasty carcinogenics from Analogs it will start to strengthen and you will be stronger and healthier then ever before.!

Oh, you've met Murphy. Doesn't he suck with his dumb law?!

Sorry to hear about the pneumonia! AND about not being able to vape! I still have a hard vape in the mornings. It's weird, like vaping is harsh then??? My brain probably still wants to convince me that I need a cigarette and gets me before I've come to my senses. I have to wait a little longer than what I normally would have when I smoked, and I have to take smaller puffs into my mouth first. Either that, or pound the coffee, and all is well.

This might sound weird, but try drinking a hot cup of Jello. The gelatin coats your throat and is really good at helping sooth coughs and sore throats. At least it's yummy and worth a try. :)

Hopefully you feel better soon! I've never had pneumonia, but my son did when he was 8. He just had partial pneumonia, but he felt awful. I hate seeing him sick. When he gets sick, I provide a diet consisting of aforementioned Jello, all fruit no-sugar-added pop-cycles (very good for reducing fever and delivering vitamin C; liquids; fiber; natural sugars to keep energy up; and smiles), and comfort foods.

You probably got some Albuterol in the nebulizer treatment. That and whatever is in the inhaler can give you the jitters. I hope you feel better soon! Just drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated. I've never had pneumonia, but I've had quite a few bouts with the flu. For some reason, whenever I'm not feeling well, I want jello and either chicken or beef bouillon.

You've only been off cigs for 2 weeks. Did you think the crap in your
lungs just vanished magically? You're hacking because your body is starting to
clean itself out. The pneumonia is something I can't comment on since there's
no way to know how you came down with it... I've seen folks that never smoke
get it too, so I can't say there's a direct link between the smoking and catching it.

But the hacking... let it happen. I smoked for over 20 years and could hear the
crap in my lungs every time I took a breath. Now, my lungs sound clear as hell.
