Black button on my grand melted

The black button on my reo grand melted.It melted on enough of an angle that it will no longer contact the battery. What would you suggest?

Sounds like a job for the master- Rob (redeyedancer) I'd pm him.

If you had the recommended battery then the spring should have collapsed. If you were using a long battery and the spring could not collapse then the melted button is the result. Either way you do need to contact Robert and set up to send it to him for repair. Don't try to use it.
The atty might be the culprit. Usually that is what causes a short and the problems. If you have a multimeter check your atty. Do not use it agian, unless you check it and it is fine.

Yep, that is the result of a short, likely caused by a bad atty. PM redeyedancer.

Wow, the protection circuit must have failed. I would toss that battery.
