I got my black licorice a couple of weeks ago and have been steeping it. It is a fantastic flavor and right on!

The only thing I am concerned about is that it is very runny....almost like water!! The color is the same that others have mentioned...light yellow. I am an experienced TV user of 80/20 and this liquid is totally different is consistency than all of my others are....at least 12 flavors

Is anyone else experiencing this????...and yes, I have shaken it well multiple times.

Hey Bones, I thought I'd address this ASAP. The Black Licorice uses an essential oil. Without the use of "Blenders Alcohol" (200 proof grain alcohol) to break the oil down so that it will properly mix with the other ingredients, it would be milky in color when you shake it up, and would separate in minutes.

While the use of alcohol helps everything incorporate, it does thin the liquid a bit more than you're probably used to. The liquid IS fine and I think you'll find it will wick easier than a heavy liquid.

This also brings me to the question earlier in this thread "Why can we only order this with a maximum of 30% VG?"

There are premium flavors, Black Licorice, Atomic Cinnacide, Cough Drop, etc. that use essential oils, NOT artificial flavorings. These flavors also require Blenders Alcohol, otherwise they would separate.

Essential oils will also NOT incorporate in VG without the use of alcohol. We've found that 30% is the maximum amount of VG that we CAN add to these liquids without separation. Anything beyond 30% and the liquids will be cloudy/milky in appearance when shaken, and again, will separate in minutes.

We have removed the option to add anything beyond 30% with our liquids.

It is ONLY with 12mg and 24mg liquids that do not require the use of essential oils that we can add anything above 30% VG.
