Black residue on my rda

I am fairly new to the world of mech mods. I currently own the Anubis mod with rda and I just got a single coil build. After about a day of using it I not black residue on the coil and wick... What should I do? Btw I'm using 100 vg menthol juice with no color

Sounds like it's the juice. When I bought juice some would do that.

The black residue is burned juice, a normal result of vaping. As long as the flavor and vapor production are satisfactory, you are good to go.

Some more info; some juices will gunk up coils faster and some less so, but it always happens after some time. Once you notice the vape performance change, less flavor and vapor production, dry burn the coil until it is pretty much clean again.

When doing a dry burn, if the wick is silica you should leave it in the coil as it will not burn or degrade with heat. What you do is take the cap off the RDA and fire the coil until it starts to glow red. Don't get it too bright or it will melt and break. Pulse the button on and off keeping the coil hot. If the coil is really gunked up it can take a while to do this. Don't let the RDA and/or the mod get too hot, stop for a few minutes if you have to and then continue again. I use a small screw driver to pick at the coil very gently which helps crack the gunk off.

If your wick is cotton or rayon, you need to take it out or it will burn up. Replace it with a new wick when you're done.
