Looked for 29 Awg at FT & found none lol
@ShowMeTwice Dry Burnt it. Coil only reads as .62 ohms but Press The Fire Button Coil Burns at 1.82 ohms
Now I'll move to wicking. So what cotton are you using? I don't have fluffy cotton
View attachment 907661 This all I have, will it work?
If you were aiming for a 1.8 ohm coil it should consistently read 1.8 ohms on your mod (1.82 ohms is fine). If it is jumping around between 0.62 and 1.82 ohms then see the next paragraph. If it is staying at 1.82 ohms on your mod then you are good to move onto wicking it. It may have just been a glitch reading 0.62 ohms.
If your ohms continue to jump around: Please make sure your coil is tightened to the posts. The leads do not need to be gorilla tight or you may snap a screw, just "tight" tight. But not a loose tight, make sense? Also verify the leads are cut as close to the posts as possible. Make sure the coil itself is not touching either of the posts.
You used 30 gauge kanthal, correct? From the photo you posted last night your coil looks to be really close to the posts on each side.
Is that a 2.5mm ID coil at 6 wraps?
Or did you install a 2mm ID 7 wrap coil?
Either of those will get you 1.8 ohms.
With the 16mm Dvarw build deck being so small I would opt for a 2mm ID coil so there is enough clearance between the posts. A 2mm ID 7 wrap coil will come out to 1.8 ohms.
When I install a new coil the ohms don't jump around. It will jump around if one, or both, legs are not tightened down. In my photo I posted yesterday I have a 26g ss316L 2.5mm ID 7 wrap coil and I know from experience it will come out to 0.45 - 0.47 ohms on any of my mods. The resistance (ohms) never jumps around.
As
@FranC posted the cotton you have will work fine.
And for cotton I use Cottonmans Mavaton's Select, Mavaton's X and Carolina Blend. But I also use rayon in RBA's.
Hope all that helps. Lemme know.
