Does it just blink a couple of times when you hit the button? If so, the dual coil is probably tripping the protection circuit. What Ohm of dual coil are you using? If you have a multimeter, you should check the resistance on the carto to make sure it is not defective and shorted. I have been using the dual coils regularly on eGos and Rivas and so far have had only one clone battery that didn't like them and blinks a few times if I try to use one.

Higher voltage by itself actually would make things worse, due to higher current draw; you are likely running into limits on the electronics surrounding the battery. You are most probably right on the edge of what that particular device can drive. Bumping up to something closer to 2 ohms would likely work. (When I used Rivas I stuck to 2 ohm Boge single coil cartos.)

You know, you're right about that. Sorry for the misleading information.

sounds like a fried mosfet to me. or at least that's what i have been told. i have had two eGo passthrough batts that have done the same thing. i thought initially that it died and that was the reason for the blinking, but then after i charged it, it did the same. mine blinks forty times any time i press the button and won't function as anything other than a strobe light for smurfs. from what i'm told, this means the end of the line for the batt.

It might, but the blinking is due to the circuitry surrounding the battery, not really the underlying battery cell. At least older eGos used a MOSFET that was rated at 2 amps nominal, some would handle a bit more current, some less, but it was a crap shoot what would happen as you approached 2A draw. Whether they have actually changed to a higher rated MOSFET beats me (I use a VV mod now), but as you get around 2A draw you could be either over-stressing the MOSFET (possible premature failure) or tripping protection circuity.

It sounds like that particular battery still works OK with higher ohm cartos/atties. I'd stop trying to use cartos/atties that are making it unhappy, so you don't actually end up breaking the battery.

(I know people use LR on stock eGos/Rivas, but it's buyer-beware at that point -- things may work well, they may not.)
