Im sure this has been asked before but anyway here goes..

So I like to mix my juices a little...Im vaping MBV juice at 6mg and its all 30% PG / 70% VG.....in a Liquinator tank with drilled Boge 3.0ohm cartos, on a Provari Mini.

Im finding that I can mix the citrus type juices with no issues..like mixing Green Apple with Spearmint, goes through the carto fine...BUT, when I mix some other juices... example Cinnamon Roll with Butterscotch, the carto all of a sudden seems to become blocked and I can hardly vape it at all. Seems to be killing them pretty quickly.

Ive tried putting the cartos in Vodka for a couple of days, then washing them through, letting them dry....nup still blocked...

Anyone got any ideas on how to clean them out? Or why they are getting blocked in the first place? Im assuming its something to do with the 2 juices mixing together and causing some kind of reaction...not sure.

Darker and/or sweeter is my guess, either is going to gum up the coils a lot faster. A good dry burn may clear it, but sometimes even that fails.

I hope this thread is referring to clearomizers and not cartomizers. Soaking a carto is vodka won't have much of an effect and dry burning one is unpleasant.

As previously stated, darker and sweeter flavors tend to either clog the filler of cartos or gunk up the heating coils.

Never try to dry burn a carto. You'll burn the filler, and never get the burnt taste removed.

I'm always perturbed why people insist on trying to clean cartomizers. These are meant to be disposable. Once used up, throw them away. Cartos are relatively inexpensive in the scheme of things. Stop being so cheap and prime up a new carto.

You spent $5 - $6 a day on cigarettes once and didn't think anything of it. What's so bad about a $2 cartomizer lasting a week, sometimes as long as 3 weeks?

More than unpleasant - terminal.

The worst dry hit I ever had was from a carto. "Dry hit" really doesn't come close to what I experienced. The terrifying nano-second when I realized I had just taken a huge drag off of a dry carto (I had grabbed the wrong device) and my mouth wasn't full of vapor, it was full of smoke from a burning carto. Luckily, I don't inhale deeply, but it was enough to feel my lungs turn to ash and tears to stream down my face. I chugged water for what seemed like the next hour while I gobbled Altoids. I could still taste burnt polyfill 2 days later. Shudder.

ETA: It popped the coil too.

I can see straight through my new Boge cartos. When I use sweet/dark liquids, they clog quickly (1-3 days; 5-15 ml).

To clean them before they clog completely, I start with a small straightened paperclip and gently work it through. Then I use a larger straightened paperclip and gently work it through. Finally I use a toothpick applying gentle pressure and spin it 5-15 times on the atty. Remove, wipe, repeat. I am careful not to apply enough pressure to reshape the atty. Flavor is reduced a little, but replacing a carto every day or two isn't what I want to do.

Obviously I couldn't do this if I couldn't see through a new carto b/c the atty is not oriented the right way.

YMMV.

Please don't dry burn a carto b/c it will actually burn. Dry burning is for silica/mesh wicks found in clearomisers or RBAs that do not actually burn.

Hanzo.

Well yes you are right, however im talking 1 or 2 days its getting blocked...which is pretty frustrating. Happy to throw em out and change them after 1 week....but im not getting anywhere near that at the moment, so I thought id ask the question.

That's been my gripe with just about every carto I have tried. It's not about the money - it's the high maintenance nature of the devices I don't like/never got used to. Then you either had to waste the time "reverse spinning" them to get the liquid out, or toss it and waste it. Seemed to go through an insane amount of liquid during my carto "I WILL make this thing work!!!" days. Then I gave up and went back to attys. And moved on to Kanger bottom coil clearo-anything.

6 days was the longest I ever got out of a carto. And the last 3 of those 6 days was more screwing around with it than vaping it. To each his own.
