I was a heavy smoker for over 20 yrs and recently slowly switched to vaping pretty much totally. I Vape a 50/50% 18 or 24% juice. I never ever have high BP but today after 3 weeks straight vaping my BP at dr today was elevated and I can feel it also my dr contributed it to my pain levels being elevated but she doesn't no much about vaping so no help there. Any ideas folks I would appreciate it. I am a heavy vapor but try and use a lower nic level for my all day if stress is low guessing I should make me up a 0nic to Vape on all day and try that.
Thank you

I was just at the Doctors yesterday also, my BP was slightly elevated but it usually is slightly up or down. I would say hit your local pharmacy and buy a blood pressure cuff there fairly cheap. I bought one on my second heart attack so my daughter can take my Press at home. Sure glad I paid for that nursing school nice to have around in a pinch. I would get a good nights sleep and take your press in the morning after not vapping all night. Take it at noon and after you settle in after dinner. being safe is always better then being sorry. Take care of yourself I wish you the best.

Blood pressure is nothing to mess with. I have been border line for years at 2 packs a day. When i switched to vaping my blood pressure didnt change at first but did lower after a few months. I vape 50/50 with 9mg nic for all day vaping and 24mg when at work because i can only vape at certain times. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

My friends who have switched to vaping had their blood pressure go up but it came down after a few weeks. My one friend was a salt freak and he can finally taste his food and doesnt pic up the salt shaker any more. I would keep an eye on it, watch what you eat, and try to fit a workout in once a week or go for walk or two. I wish you the best

I can't say for sure but when I started vaping my BP went down and I ended up going down on my medication. I am sure that walking was helping me too. Getting a BP kit is a good idea. Get your doctor to write a prescription for it. I did and my insurance paid for it because of the doctors prescription. Good luck to you and keep check on it.

Blood pressure can be very variable anyway, so it may just be a one-off that it happened to be high while you were at your appointment. My recommendation would be to buy yourself a blood pressure cuff and measure it yourself at different times, before and after vaping, to see how it generally sits and whether vaping does seem to affect it. They are not expensive or difficult to use.

Since starting to vape my blood pressure has actually gone down to the point that my Dr. wants to check it on next visit considering reducing dose on BP meds, like you I have my share of problems and daily take 6 different meds daily as well as the aspirin a day, and multi vitamin. Vaping has given me something else to reach for other than analogs and junk food. I've lost 34 lbs, cholesterol is way down and generally things look way better for me health wise. Vaping at 18 to 24 could be a lot of nic. rather than vaping 0 why don't you try weening yourself down a little at a time. I started on 12 and now doing a little below 5. I must admit I do vape a lot, being disabled and having way too much time on my hands was causing me problems with the analogs and junk food, I had put on over 100 since my injury, now happy to say that the end is in site as I lose the weight I feel better and can do more, which helps me lose even more.

I'm no doctor, but the juice itself probably does not cause high bp. You may be getting more nic vaping than you did smoking. Yo may be experiencing your body's reaction to not getting all the other toxins in smoke (please read up on that).

When you go from smoking to vaping, it's hard to keep getting exactly the same nic. Yo may notice feeling weird or head achey. I was a heavy smoker too, so I started at 24 nic. When I realized I was getting head aches, I dropped to 18, then to 12. I think I may vape more heavily than I smoked, lol.

Also, drink a LOT of water. If you do get a vape head ache, water will ease it very quickly. (That's one way to know if it's the juice or just you, if you don't have to wait an hour for the advil to work)

Remember too that if your pain levels are higher, often your blood pressure goes up.

Hopefully there are some more senior members here who have better advice and more experience than I who can help you, but my advice is don't panic.

I do appreciate everyone's replies
Gpc2012 I do understand exactly were your coming from only real diff is I have opposite issues with weight hence most hate me lol but it's difficult and no I'm not anorexic or similar I just have a very high metabolism. I can't eat enough ugh suppose to be 20,000 calorie a day diet now that's hard to hit and these days rarely get it. Love my sweets tho and they do help me unlike most others.

No expert here, but just some things to keep in mind:

-Make sure you aren't getting spilled e juice on your skin or fingers. Wash promptly if there is spillage.

-Perhaps a drop in nicotine content? I've noticed a couple of friends have taken to vaping more than if they were smoking cigarettes. If you are not vaping close to how you would smoke cigarettes, this could be an issue.

-Advice to get a home blood pressure cuff is a good one.

IMHO: too high on the Nic level... lower it. If you are still dealing with cravings, I say start dripping at home. You don't have to go sub-ohm, just do it for the cloud. Meaning; like the old days of smoking. Dripping forces you to use a much lower level of nicotine but the psychological affect should satisfy the cravings. Right now, after 60 days of Vaping, I'm on 6mg Nic level and I switch between dripping and tank use. The last blood pressure test at the doctor showed much better than 6 months ago when I was till smoking... As summer approached, take 30 minutes and walk around the block briskly, unless you have a bike. We are supposed to at least 1 time a week have our pulse above 100 for 15 minutes. :2c:

I've been over/under 140/85 for a while and last August the Dr said try to lower sodium to under 2000mg/day. Sounded high to me til I started reading labels and servings. I used to eat 5 chili dogs and found they were 1180 each. Small frozen pizza has 5 servings, lol.

In January I was still smoking a couple a day and vaping. I had a 151/85 one day and got shocked since I had been keeping around 130/75. I went for an hour without cig or vape and it went back down to 131/78. That is with a home wrist tester.

Point is, don't obsess about it, watch your sodium, sit in a comfy chair for at least 5 minutes before testing.
