I got my Bloog kit 10 days ago and for starters the PCC is a ...... It wont charge a battery past 2/3 unless i charge it 2-3 times... Not a dealbreaker, but an annoyance.

Next up: the battery. A few days in the auto switch went screwy. It no longer cuts off when i stop pulling, every time it goes for the full 5sec... now it seems clogged (somehow??) and it takes a ton (see: pornstar) amount of suction to turn on.

I've heard horror stories about frying batteries with too much liquid so I'm always really careful when filling the carto's to make sure there's no too much liquid.

Aside from the problems I've got a buddy who has a bloog that loves it and i've heard nothing but raving reviews on this forum. I still love it and I've already emailed Jack @ Happy Vaper to setup an exchange (and pickup some more cartos).

Has anyone else had problems with the Bloog?

I don't know from Bloog, but have been using KR808D-1 cig sized batteries (and 510's) for nearly a year now.
You get some (I have 11 batteries and just got in 25 more 510 batteries as well) that act weird in a charger but ARE fully charged, regardless of the light indicator.
Best is regardless of what the light says, use em and see how long they play well. If might be my imagination as well, but it seems a usb charge off of a computer is not as tapped up and takes a little longer as well. I wall charge all of my batteries.

Correct, 808D-1 batteries do last longer and have a slight bit more mah power, as well as another 1/2v (3.7v vs 3.2v).
Love the 808's but also love the 510 carto's. I've run 510 carto's on 808 batteries (via adapter) and love the results.

Hello, I actually started out with a kr808d-1 branded a "duo pro" when I first started vaping in Jan 2009. I will say this is a great model, I love it and still use them today, however the battery issue is something you need to be careful of.
The automatic batteries are open, so the hole where to cartomizer connects to the battery actually allows liquid to get into the wiring & area where the lithium battery is on older models of this battery.
There are 2 ways to prevent this from happening, 1 is to go with a manual battery, although there is a hole in the connection end of the manuals as well, this hole is closed in comparison to the auto, making it harder for liquid to get inside.
The other option, if you already have an auto battery, is to put a small piece of scotch tape, just large enough to go over the hole on the battery end, but not large enough to cover the entire tops of the little inside connection parts, on either side of the hole. This would help prevent liquid from getting down inside of the battery.
Of course, the best method of avoiding this issue would be to be very careful after you've filled a cartomizer, always check the bottom where it screws into the cartomizer, make sure there is no liquid in the threads on the bottom, and also blow gently through the cartomizer into a paper towel after filling to get any extra liquid out. If your cartomizer is blown through like this, you'll generally remove any liquid that could have potentially gotten to your battery.
I have recently gotten myself a new KR808D-1 type auto battery, the hole we're discussing is closed on the lasted model of these batteries, so that does take care of the problem on newer models.

I always fill through the top by rotating and dripping down the sides (I use a needle when at home), I even let it fill up until it drips out the bottom a little bit. Then I put the cap back on, wipe the leaks away, blow lightly into it from mouthpiece and wipe off the rest of the juice. Then I usually let it sit for a couple minutes and it's ready to go..

It's hard to jump on a company for a wonky battery, it should be replaced (especially from Jack you shouldn't have an issue), but "S happens". I've had no issues with my Bloog batteries and they have been used quite a bit so far.

In my roughly year of vaping i've got several Auto batteries, a bunch of 510's, eGo's, KR808's and now some Bloogs.

I've only ever had TWO batteries fail on me. Both were the Auto mega eGo's. Both within 2 weeks each (different companies). No dripping was being done. But it's the way it goes sometimes.. get it replaced and all should be good again.

Hopefully you can get them swapped out and the next ones perform the way they should for you!

I've got the bloogs. The pcc is a bit cheaply made but still works fine. With these like any gadget you're going to run into problems. You have to be really careful with the auto batteries. I keep carto's in rotation and allow them to sit usually overnight before vaping them.

Bottom line also is that the batteries and accessories for these things can all be replaced for around $20. Even if I had to replace a battery or Pcc once every week, it's still cheaper then smoking.

Exactly!

Gotta put it all into perspective!
These are Chinese produced products and lets face it QC is poor, even on E-go's Riva's and any other chinese product out there. It's not necessarily a bad thing when KR808D-1 batteries can be had as cheap as $12.oo without even having to order direct from China. I just ordered and received 25, 510 batteries for $9.95 each from a midwest supplier.

If a few give us fits, they are darned near disposable "at even 3 times the cost". Considering a pack of cigs is at or over $6.00, it takes no time at all to pay ourselves back.
I go through camera batteries that are not rechargable, and the fact is, they cost me as much to replace and are not rechargable. (4 AA's of high quality run me $8.00)
Why try so hard to nurse an old or defective battery? Take the loss, get a fresh new shiny one, and move on. That's part of the beauty of the cig sized. A battery fails, ya ain't out much.

I keep 8 or so charged and ready, I probably rotate between 3 or 4, with differing style and flavored carto's attached, and have ~ 40 in house that I sell or use (don't mix the two). I also run 808's and 510's, since I like certain aspects of both....No cigar sizes for me.

Believe me I'm not sayin you should be happy with a piece of crap, but it sounds like you either have defective batteries, or have some how gotten juice in them.

I agree with pig in that the source of these things is sketchy at best, so just imagine the QC lol.. Part of the reason I picked the bloog is because I see this leaford guy all over these forums talking about how he's trying to improve the whole process of how PV's are designed and manufactured. I don't know him but it's nice to hear someone gives a .... lol

Sorry about your crappy luck!!

And I'm not saying that we want crtap either. We search for good product and suppliers and hope what we buy lasts.
But they are Chinese. Some good, some crap, none excellent.
These batteries are not made by the Energizer Bunny, or are they Duracell. They are what they are. If you dissect them you would be amazed at the compactness but also shocked at how cheap the battery portion really is, and shoddy (hand assembled) workmanship.
It is what it be!
And it be inexpensive.
If Duracell made these units. they would be 4 times as much, and I would pay it. Gladly.
They do not.

Just another issue with these things is what I'm seeing. They do look cool but stuff is adding up against them. They say you need to be careful with it, I don't have to be careful now with my manual batteries, and I don't mind pushing that little button to vape. Plus, that's just one more thing that can go wrong and for some people it seems it is. After reading all this it's pushed me over the edge and I'm going to forget this stuff at least until they get a manual battery you can't mess up no matter how you fill it.

So to recap, let's see. I pop the top off my tank and top it off twice a day although I could do it once a day no problem. With this thing you need to fill it more often I presume, twirl it around, blow on it, cross your fingers and click your heels three times. The batteries are weak and you have to carry around a charger and keep swapping them out. Mine, I swap out every couple of days. You can't see how much juice is in the thing, whereas I can tell what i've got in there just from looking at it assembled. The attys in the carto won't last as long and when it starts tasting like burnt dung it's time to toss it. That's a real fun experience and something I want to see happen a lot more often I'm sure. On the other hand you could have just screwed up and let it go dry, since you can't tell what's in there. Yikes!

As to the charging, its definitely just the PCC display. Mine was showing the same, so I put the meter to em and they are fully charged coming off the PCC...no worries.

The other killer thing about the Bloogs is they hit fully until the last vape when its recharge time. And the voltage is a MINIMUM half volt more than a 510...its actually closer to a full volt...that combined with the ohms of their cartos is why they KILL 510's for vapor and flavor!! And even my mini BMF batts last longer. You just cant beat a Bloog MF...believe me, I've tried...cant find another convenient PV setup that gives the same vapor and flavor.

i noticed this too , stays strong till the very last puff , also can confirm it is just the display as i charged mine on the pcc then tranfered to my wall charger and it indicated that it was full , maybe the display is meant for a standard battery and the just used it for the mini pcc also ? my only only complaint is the little charging pin sometimes sticks but i can pull it out with my pinky nail so not a deal breaker just a minor disappointment but i dont miss alway carying tissue around to wipe my ego leaks or dripping , nothings perfect but this is the closest ive come to perfect , and im a former ali'i user
