Hi guys,

I'm new to vaping; I just bought an eRoll today and have been trying to read up on it.
I understand it's important to keep the atomizer clean in order to prolong its life, but before trying other cleaning methods (i only have 1 atomizer at the moment), I want to just blow clean it.

Is it the end of the atomizer that connects to the battery that you are meant to blow through?

Thanks

Nope. Just blow through the mouthpiece and put some tissue on the battery connector end to catch the excess juice.

I've read in other threads, that for the eGo-C type atomizer (that comes with the eRoll, right?) you blow through the battery end, but then I saw a YouTube video with a guy blowing through the wick end of a similar atomizer. Does it make a difference?
Should I blow through the mouthpiece when there is juice in there? wouldn't that fill the atomizer with the juice?

The eRoll comes with 2 atomizers, but the guy at the shop assembled it for me and forgot to put the other one back in the box and now they are closed for the week :(
I don;t want to break it as this is the only one I have got for the next 5 days and I don;t want to go back to regular cigarettes.

I cannot give you advice regarding your question, but hang in there ! I'm pretty sure there is a lot of people in this forum to help you out. I hope you survive the next 5 days till your back up comes. Goodluck and happy vaping ! I can help bump the thread for you till you get comfortable on how to do it :)

Part of this is going to be advice asked for and part not so bear with me.

Blow through the battery connector side into a tissue. However, my experience with the ego atty is it gets clogged up pretty quick with dark juices and once it does it is REALLY easy to burn it to a crisp. As in one big hit and it is fried. Been there done it.

What I did with mine was a soak (just the tiny atomizer part) in plain cheap vodka. Followed by a soak in water. Followed by blowing it out.

Now for the unasked advice. Chances are (I am not over familiar with the eroll) your ego batteries have both 510 (inside threading) and ego connectors(outside threading). Get rid of the tank system. Those tiny atomizers are expensive and a nightmare to clean. They burn up quickly and easily. Keep your batteries and pick up either some cartomizers or clearomizers. Lots of brands and styles to choose from out there.

In a pinch if your atty does die before the shop is open again you can probably pick up some prefilled cartomizers somewhere that are 510 threaded. I know here in the state Blu are (Sky in Britain).

Thanks for the advice. I'll feel much more confident cleaning it tonight.

It has taken me 4 years to actually find a shop here that sells (proper) eCigs. This is the only one i know of, so I don;t really think i will have much choice of changing stuff. The guy at the shop assured me that they sell spare atomizers so I know I can get replacements for this. I could get stuff imported from the US/China/HK, but shipping and tax is usually a killer and doubles the price on any item.

I'm not sure about what you mean with the threading for the batteries, it is a slot type with pins. You slot it in and twist it. it's not a screw type battery, i don;t know if that is a good thing or not.

The atomizer part is actually quite big, about 1cm long, I should soak the whole thing in vodka, right? I'm not going to try this until I get some spare ones, but it'll be good to know for when I try. Apparently, the type of atomizer I have is meant to be easy to disassemble and clean, but ofc, i haven;t tried this yet.

Edit - After blow cleaning the atomizer, should i then reassemble the whole thing, remembering to put in 3 drops of juice on to the wick, and leave it overnight?

The eRoll is a cigalike autobat with 4 main parts. Has the battery, the atty cover, the atty and the tank.
No threading, no connectors. Just kinda fits together.

Best advice is to soak it in the cheap grain alcohol, then in water, then blow from the connector end. Which would be the one with the little copper bits into a napkin.

They are persnickity, in they get caked up pretty quick with darker liquids, but with the eroll you can't change systems yet. I'm sure there's a company someplace that will figure out a way to make clearos for that thing eventually. Great little kit.

Hope this helps.

Erm, you have kind of confused me more. Little copper bits? Aren't there copper bits at each end?

I can;t really soak it in alcohol to wash it, as I only have the one atomizer for the next few days.

I'm using a fairly clear 'american mix' juice from a HK company. Seems ok, going from 40-50 a day to 18mg juice is a bit of a struggle, but so far, much better than patches or gum. I barely get for an analogue cigarette any more.

Thanks I had never actually seen one taken apart beyond the atty/tank. So additional parts wont be an option.

Giving the Atomizer a good cleaning is the best bet then.

I clean my eRoll atty by popping off the top and soaking it in alcohol for 10 minutes, then rinse it with hot water. After that I put it on the battery and stand in front of a mirror and blow from the led side untill the coil glows. At that point I glow the coil for 3-5 second bursts until it's clean. Then I put a drop of juice on the coil and on the wick and push the top back on and it's ready to go.

Silkstone: Sorry, the bottom of the atty. It's the flat part with the copper plate and tiny hole in it. Not the end with the spike, the other end. :)
Myrany: I have quite a bit of experience with Joye's complete line. The eRoll is a quite nice device for it's size. Astounding vapor for a cigalike. I keep one in my car for when the desire for a stinker is the strongest.

Yeah I have only dealt with the ego tank system that came with my ego-c starter kit. Hated that system because of the attys.

Yes, after blowing it out reprime the atty and reassemble. Simple as that. Sorry I confused you on the earlier post.
